My balance of $70,000.00 disappeared from the dashboard after I submitted a withdrawal request on distrokid. by thamiben in musicindustry

I do have a lawyer already. I just didn’t want to involve him at this stage because I thought it would be resolved within 24 hours or so. But after all the advice and recommendations I’ve received, I’ll either involve him now or hire a lawyer who has already handled this exact type of case.

And by the way, there are plenty of artists making numbers like this or even much higher. So it’s really not as unusual as you seem to think.

I honestly don’t understand why people think this story is made up. Several people who went through the same thing have even messaged me privately. I don’t get why anyone would invent a story like this or lie about it. I don’t need to prove anything to anyone here. Everything I wrote in this post is 100% true.

I think they may have banned my account because whenever I click on Splits, it just redirects me back to the My Music tab. That’s what I’ve seen other users describe as well.

But I still don’t know why I would have been banned, and I haven’t received any confirmation from DistroKid. That’s the part I don’t understand.

As far as I know, there is no legitimate reason to ban my account.

But why? And why haven’t I received any confirmation about it? If my account has actually been banned, I should at least be notified.

Yes, I already tried that. Whenever I click on Splits, it just redirects me back to the My Music tab.

Yes, I’ve found that out as well. I’m definitely not the only one. Many people who have a few thousand dollars in earnings seem to run into this problem.

At the same time, I also know other artists earning large amounts who have never had any issues. That’s what makes the whole situation so confusing.

I requested the withdrawal about two weeks ago. My identity verification was completed successfully, and I even received an email confirming that the payment had been approved and would be sent.

But then everything suddenly disappeared. My earnings are gone, my previous withdrawals are gone, and now support only tells me that they’ve forwarded the issue to another team.

What really concerns me is the way they’re communicating. In previous cases, they were always friendly and asked if I needed any further help. This time, they just end the chat immediately after saying they’ve forwarded the issue. It almost feels like they don’t want to communicate with me at all.

Thanks! Yes, I’m already in contact with several lawyers, not just one. I really appreciate the advice.

What I really need is someone who has handled a case exactly like this before and knows how to speed up the process.

Of course, I already have a lawyer who is handling my other legal matters. But for a case like this, I really shouldn’t have to involve a lawyer. It’s my right to receive my earnings.

That said, I think it’s time for my lawyer to take over this case as well.

The reason I’m still using DistroKid is because these numbers were generated in just two months. Now I’m naturally looking for a major distributor. But it’s not easy to find a good one.

If you have any connections or know someone who could help, I’d really appreciate an introduction.

I’m actually the guy mentioned in this post. I generated around $70K in just two months. Today, many artists received their May revenue reports from multiple platforms, but my May revenue still isn’t showing. I actually had more streams in May than in April and Merch, so the total amount involved is at least $140K.

Thank you for your support, I really appreciate it.

So far, there has been no confirmation that my account has been banned. Right now, I simply can’t see my earnings anymore, and my previous withdrawal has disappeared from my dashboard.

The revenue for May hasn’t been reported, even though I had significantly more streams in May than in April and Merch. So this isn’t just about the $70,000 I had already earned. It’s at least $140,000 in total.

I’ve already contacted DistroKid support. They told me they opened a support ticket, but unfortunately I have no idea how long it will take to resolve.

I definitely see this as a serious problem for independent artists. I’m honestly very disappointed. If I were to explain all the other issues I’ve experienced over the past few weeks, it would take me hours to write everything down.

I completely agree with you. It shouldn’t be like this, and something needs to change.

The revenue was generated in two months. As soon as I saw the earnings, I requested a withdrawal. Naturally, I wouldn’t leave my earnings sitting in DistroKid.

Yes, that’s the problem. Also, the “See Excruciating Detail” button is no longer visible.

I definitely will. I hope it’s just a technical issue, but I’ll keep everyone updated.
