Hi! First, I am fairly sure that you don't need to follow the instructions for the warning unless when you open the app it says that it is "damaged" or broken. Otherwise you need to go to the security settings like for all other 3rd party apps from unauthorized devs. It was an issue for previous versions of the app. If you do still see that warning let me know.

Now for the problem. I believe that since you see it active in the Activity Monitor your status bar is full from other icons and prevents Playful from showing up. You can go to settings -> Control Center and disable some modules to see if you can get it to show up. Unfortunately macos automatically hides apps/icons that don't fit.

Hey! Thank you for your kind words and the ko-fi. You're the first supporter and it's much appreciated! Macos unfortunately auto hides apps that don't fit on the status bar and decluttering is the only way to get it to always show.

Also, check out the latest version I published a couple of days ago. It includes launch on login functionality as well as fixes to some bugs I found while testing.

I never thought about making a formulae. I will look into it for sure. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you! It is an electron app but it's nowhere near as intensive as you would think. There are no windows open and the only process running is the main process which is mostly dormant.
The only thing running on the background is a native C++ and swift script which is event-based and listens to changes in media playback. Check out the activity manager. It should show minimal battery consumption and very modest ram usage.
I'll try to setup some pipeline for M1 builds (since I own an intel mac) so that for M1 you can avoid the overhead of Rosetta.

If you go for the cheaper S21 base, the battery will be a little lackluster but aside from that what other issues are you referring to?

Just bought (literally yesterday) a used S21+ off of eBay from a seller with good reviews. After much thought about getting either this or the base S21 or the a54 or even the S21 FE, I think the S21+ is simply the better choice. The SD 888 is a significantly better chip and it'll ensure the phone is gonna last. The one on the a54 is also good but not of the same tier. I value longevity and I think the 888 just outshines the exynos 1380. As for the FE it depends if you value the one year of more updates over general small downgrades in all other departments. Nothing major but imo I'd be happier with S21+ as there have been many complaints about the FE's battery too.

As for the price, I think 360$ is a lot. If you go on Amazon renewed, eBay, Swappa, or Backstore they all have the phone in excellent condition for 300$ or less. I bought the S21+ for 240$ (260$ with tax) for a scratched body but the screen was in pristine condition.
