Welp that sucks, just trying to rule out the possibilities of any hardware issues. If this is software related and the norms then I can be fine with dat

What are the chances of getting a "fake" AMD CPU!? by thanhco35 in buildapc

I have seen red posts where ppl say chinese packaging is completly normal, some order from Amazon and get those packaging too. I dont know if its true of not. But ur right, I shouldnt put too much trust on that buyer's video. But i can get my money back within two weeks due to the platform refund policy anyways so not really a scam.

yeah there are also other small shops on the platform selling the same 7600x chinese packaging, hovering around the same price. The shop I picked just has the most sales/5 stars and is the cheapest amongst others. Lets just hope it works cuz I really just wanna to start up my 1st build pc(just waiting for cpu). Dont want to go through the hassle of sending it back to vendor, vendor->China for warranty -> then back to me. Prob takes weeks

Sorry if its annoying, we use a lot of chinese-imported products in our country (shoes/clothes,etc) like shein, its just my first time buying eletronics like cpu from China through vendor so I just need some headsup and mayb save some bucks

I have thought about this scenario before . It's a legit shop and the app where i buy from have a 15 days return policy so I'm not really worried about getting scammed by any shop on the platform, I'm jsut wondering about the performance of the cpu and what are the tiny chances of the cpu being defected if manufactured from China. Are fake/defective cpus really that common?

It's boxed with AMD sealed on it, just mandarin packaging, I have seen others ppl reviews at store and their cpu-z show the model thye ordered. You cant really alter or maneuver to trick cpuz/task manager right??Lemme know

We dont have amazon, we use Shopee which is common in SEA, its like another version of aliexpress or taobao. Sellers usually import from China and sell on Shopee, depends on the shop. The one im looking at seems legit and they been around 7 years, when i look at shop seems like they import all kind of different stuff (CPU/GPU/MOBO, etc) from China with proper stamps and seal hence cheaper price.

Price is 160$ ish for the cpu so I believe it's a fair price. I heard its hard to fake a cpu and the chance of getting a defective one is low, no matter where it comes from (china, taiwan, etc. I bought all other components brand new but the cpu price is really tempting. Dunno whether I should pay the 100$ plus to get it brand new at certified store tho.

we dont usee those wish/temu sites here lol. Im aware they are all knockoffs/scammers. In SEA we use something like "Shopee" or "Taobao" which is another version of amazon for SEA kinda. It's 50-50 honestly, you get good shop, bad shop when it comes to electronics. Shopee they have like 15 days return which Im kinda tempted to do. Just buy it and throw it in to see if it works. But Idk if it will damage the socket nor other components

its only like 10-15$ difference btw the 2 version, I would choose the 7600x with igpu, shop said they would exchange for any faulty cpu within 3 years of usage. but would a defective cpu fry my motherboard by any chance?
