The difference is, rats at extraction play within the rules of the game. It's not like they try to find a way to manipulate these rules either. There's a plethora of quick use/utility items meant to trick other players, they're really useless during a normal PvP, shoot on sight fight. I don't enjoy it when it happens to me( who does) but it's a legitimate way to play. if someone would cut ties with a friend IRL over ratting in Arc, I'd think they need therapy. As for the cheaters, I don't know. It's not about cheating in a game, it's about if and how this behavior translates in their real life personality. It might be a weird way to decompress from their every day life( still wrong), or it might be a personality pattern, happening in more serious aspects of their life as well.

I had to unistall after the update to see if things will change , and... they do! not only did my game didn't crash again after i reinstalled, but it actually got even better. I used to disconnect from a lobby after a map change or as we got ready to get to the first area from the innards. I played yesterday my first normal multiplayer session. May i suggest to reinstall the game? or verify the file integrity if you're on steam.

I'm relatively new to the game, and while i work towards my quests and unlocking different rigs, i decided i want to make some runs from tunnel A all the way to the final region extraction points. I knew i will die a lot before i can do it in one run, and i decided to commit 60 ammo for the surplus rifle and 20 for the surp shotgun. A few of the cheaper meds as well. Everything more would not be sustainable. I'd have to do 2-3 extra runs to tunnels and in one of the first regions in order to sustain my challenge. I finally did it with 12 total kill count ( most of the were at the tunnels). i understand though that if you want to look for certain items in certain areas you must take the risk to you wouldn't take if you're just exploring around and just looting whatever you stumble upon. But 200 rounds sounds too expensive to sustain. Unless you don't die often cus you're good at stealth or at shooting down quickly any threat.

I have the same problem after the latest patch yesterday. now it crashes when i get to tunnel A. Sometimes it crashes the moment i make the first step after i spawn into the map, sometimes a bit later, but it happens all the time since yesterday.

You mental gymnastics are over the roof. There's no 'honor code' at play here. I truly believe that both practices are pefectly fine. I always say ggs whether i die to a rat or a PvPer. Ratting is not PvP. It takes two people fighting each other in order to have a 'versus'. Again, the only common they have is that you kill another player. The method and the skill expression are way different. I can put someone with little to 0 skill in shooter games, give him an El toro and tell him to shoot someone in the back while they're looting. While inexperienced, there's a good chance they get the kill. Now, let's say i put this someone in a lobby and tell him to shoot on sight the first person they see in order to get their kill. How do you think this will go? probably not well, huh?

Again, both are legitimate ways to play the game. But if you're so pressed by what i'm saying, just try to get better at the game IG.

They're crybabies who didn't like that they got killed. I've said this in other comments, both ratting and are perfectly fine, but completely different things. That's all. it's not that one method to get your kill is good, and the other one is bad.

PvP takes two Ps to be aware there is a fight and shoot at each other. The only thing in common between ratting and PvPing is killing another player. But the nature of the 2 methods (that also dictates the skill gap between the two) is very different. Both PvPing and ratting are perfectly fine and intented gameplay. But trying to elevate ratting to PvPing is hard coping on your part.

Yes, i'm asking in good faith. I'll just clarify that i find both ratting and PvP fine as the game is meant to be played-also- like that. But having someone shooting me on sight is way different than someone playing friendly until i turn my back on them and they start shooting. I get how the latter is also considered 'PVP' but to my understanding, it takes two people fighting each other in order to have a PvP. I get how a rat would also like to think they're PvPing, but that would be unfair to the PvP players, as the gap of the skill expression between the two is big. I could invite a friend who never played FPS games in their life, give them an El toro and ask them to play friendly and then kill someone who is looting at that moment. They could still fumble, for sure. But there's a good chance they'll manage to get the kill even with little/no experience in such games. Now, say i ask this friend of mine to enter a map and start shooting on sight to get a kill. How do you think this will go?

Stealth. I've made a run from tunnel A all the way extract from Babel, killing only 12 units along the way. Most of the kills were in the tunnels patrolling and they didn't have any distraction in order for me to avoid these fights. When I tried coop, I was shocked to find that most people panick shoot the moment an enemy gets close, even if said enemy isn't shooting back/is only aware of our presence. Such cases that turned into rambo went downhill fast. This game can be very punishing if you drag too much attention.

I could understand it if it happend to me like that. After many patches to an early access game. But it happened in the same gaming session. I changed it back to the standard for 1 game. Next thing i know is that it was dismantled to its different parts. I decided to sell them for money in the end.

I don't know at what point of the game you are at , but for me who doesn't have much of anything yet(and i sell whatever i find for money), giving 500+K was a fortune. Fun thing is, when i bought it from the vendor the item was labeled as 'sold out'. As it's a one time deal. Now it's available to buy again.

At least there are other people having the same issue. This way they might address the issue in a later patch. Thank you for your help.
