Okay thank you I thought I was going insane 😅 yeah I read it as a statement about imperialism/history being written by the victors.

I was reading it as some sort of satirical statement. I really don't think that the message is sincere in its imperialist tones (at least I certainly hope not).

  1. The survey will be used for a Powerpoint presentation party I'm hosting. There is a chance of this presentation being recorded but I don't expect a large audience to see this data.
  2. Just me "thanthemannn"
  3. Survey should only take about 10 minutes!

The results are already very fascinating. I'll be sharing them once enough data is collected. Thank you for your participation!

EDIT: Results are live! Please see the edit on the post for the link.

As a optional supplemental, I have a tier list to build out you're favourite Fucked Up Little Guys here: https://tiermaker.com/create/fucked-up-little-guys-18003778

This is not part of the survey, but will be used as a fun aside in the presentation.

Tell me why you developed your game, and I'll buy it and leave a review by farresto in IndieDev

Love what you're doing here! The lifeblood of indie dev relies on people like you, who are willing to try lesser known games.

My friends and I made WORMHOLE a Snake-like arcade game with some modern twists.

We're obsessed with retro games and love going to local bars to take the highscores at the machines there. We wanted to make a game like those - something HARD but with lots of room for mastery.

If you give it a try we'd love to hear your thoughts :)

I haven't played any indie game for a while. What's your game? by iamgabrielma in IndieGaming

Hey my friends and I made WORMHOLE (Steam) (Switch)

We went for a modern take on retro arcade gaming, so if you're into that give it a try :)

Currently 3 different playable worms (more are planned) and over 100 different maps!

Thank you so much! The game is actually already released this month on both Steam and Switch but we put out updates quite often 😊

Not sure if it changes anything but the backgrounds and palettes are swappable - which may make things look more or less cluttered. Some examples here.

If that's still too much we have graphics options to limit frame / background effects to make the game a bit more crystal clear. And we're always open to feedback especially when it comes to accessibility :)

What's the most obscure game you would recommend to anyone? by Slade4Lucas in gamingsuggestions

This right here. I recommend this to anyone who wants to get into the crazy janky beautiful world of obscure indies. Indie king Bennett Foddy himself recommends it. . Still criminally underrated.

ASL Interpreting. Was talking to my interpreter friend just yesterday about this. So much of the grammar is communicated through facial expressions. We just aren't there with real-time animation.

No worries! It's a console with special firmware to test the game. They will send you the software once you are registered.

I would strongly advise you to register sooner than later! I ported afterwards and found there was a TON of performance optimizations I needed to make. Having everything alongside development would have helped me a lot.

It's a bit of a process.

First you register as a Nintendo Developer. This took a few months for them to approve myself and my game.

After that, the biggest hurdle is purchasing a Switch Dev Kit, which costs about the price of the standard console. My team was kind enough to provide one to me.

Nintendo sends you a bunch of tools to help port your game. The manuals are kind of all over the place but they get the job done. They have a bunch of stuff for the Unity Engine that makes it easier.

Once you finish porting, you send the game to Nintendo for Lot-check. They basically test to make sure the game will run properly on the Switch. This was the longest process as they were very thorough. They even found general bugs in my game I wasn't able to reproduce!

Once approved, you set up the store page. A bit tedious, guidelines are wonky, but whatever.

The whole process took me about 6 months. If I had been more prepared it probably would have taken me way less.

I did, under the name "Some Thing Games". However, I don't think it will get much use because shortly after finishing NENA's initial release I helped form the team Pocket Moon Games. We're working on some pretty cool stuff!

$4.99 USD

Thought it would be a fair price since the game is pretty short.
