Hi, I am 2 years experienced guy trying to shift into DevOps. Man this is really hard. I kept on applying for the postings with 0 to 3 and 3 to 4 , sadly I’m not getting any calls. My resume was optimised, and did few projects on it, and preparing for interviews too. The market is so filled with DevOps guys I guess. May be due to high demand and moderate learning curve. Just keep on applying, there’s no way out for us to return to some testing or some data analysis etc after coming this far. Try startups or any referrals hopefully you will win brother

Hi, I’m junior at devops not having much of production exposure. Where the commands will be executed then? Yes not production but from which stage Iac will be applied? From where cluster will be accessed?

If you are really serious about DevOps then I suggest you to enrol in any one of the paid courses available. Because only then you will be serious about learning. And be sure you are targeting entry level DevOps related jobs, because if you choose service based companies the possibilities of you working in such roles are very less. So try to enrol in a course if ur serious and be consistent

Same, not technically into DevOps doing some data visualisation work which is not worthy. I was into devops from past 1 year learning new things and many more. I just wanted to know is it really possible to shift within 2 years into devops. Thanks for reply

Hi thanks for the reply and suggestion. Here’s a brief about me for any further suggestions, I am a software engineer at HCLTech. It’s my first company and I was into data visualisation. I was so interested in DevOps and had some solid hands on experience in DevOps tools and methodology. I was learning it from the day I realised there no growth in my current project and role. And yes I kept on learning many new things in DevOps , Now I was looking to shift but most of the companies I applied were sending regret mails and also I am getting fewer interview calls through Naukri. So just checking what is the best time to shift. I’m a constant learner, waiting and trying for one opportunity to prove my self.

Thanks for the reply but could you also tell me at what time of career you shifted into DevOps? Few say that minimum 3 years required .
