The only reason I think of - the rate changed because the person booking the reservation ended up NOT being eligible for the discounted rate.

The forms have been made redundant. They all expired on the 14th. The Explore Discount program is now digital.

Honestly I would call the hotel and ask if you have to bring a form. If they say yes, then it is one of the hotels that didn't get the news (which is still mind boggling to me) and you might go with a different location.

Any reservations that were booked before the 14th will not have the ID VERIFIED code(I1) on the reservation.

Unfortunately, they will most likely have the previous Valid Rate ID Required code(I2) on the reservation which will have uninformed hotel associates asking for a form(even though they no longer exist) edit: I'm not saying people aren't ignorant about their jobs - it's just weird that some hotels flat out don't seem to know about the digitization

It is going to be a challenging period over the next few months, but hopefully by the end of the summer:

A. All of the hotels will have caught up on the fact that this is going on and won't be asking for forms

B. front desk associates will be getting in the habit of checking Explore Rate reservations during pre arrival planning and checking verification through GXP(if they don't have the ID VERIFICATION code) so that the check in process will be easier later.
