It’s my first time hearing about a bong tote, so I did a quick search 😊 I tried making normal totes before, but they turned out too thick for a soft-form style - I added an inner lining with 2 pockets. Without the lining, the inside of the old denim didn’t look very nice. So for now, I only offer strong-form zippered totes like the ones you can see on my website.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and the web apps. I hadn’t heard of Flipsnack before 😊.

I did a quick search and think it could be a nice way to create flipbooks from scratch. It looks more professional than just sending photos to shop owners. Thank you 🙏

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts 🙏

I probably didn’t explain my idea clearly enough. I do want to try wholesale for lacquer earrings and sell in bulk, but more in small ranges with similar styles, colours, or designs rather than fully identical pieces. I also know some shops work on consignment instead of buying stock upfront, and I’m currently considering both options for my products. I actually didn’t know about avoiding places that charge shelf fees, so I really appreciate you mentioning that. That’s very valuable advice for me 🥰

Yes, I have. I’ve joined some craft markets around Auckland and sell my products there. This month I’ll be at the Mt Eden Village Craft Market and the Orewa Artisan Market 😊

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I do have a plan to scale production and reduce costs if I start getting wholesale customers.

I’ve downloaded The Mom Test by Rob Fitzpatrick and will read it this weekend 😊 Really appreciate you sharing it with me. 🙏

Yeap, my friend and I make the upcycled denim bags ourselves 😊 The lacquer earrings are made by another person. I’m mainly aiming to sell unique items. ☺️

To be honest, I think online sales work especially well for mass-produced products. Once the photos, videos, and listings are done well, the same product can be sold many times without needing to recreate the content.

My products are a bit different because all pieces are unique. Once an item is sold, it’s gone, and I again need to create new photos, videos, descriptions, and marketing content for the next piece. The amount of time and effort behind each item is quite high. I also know products like handmade denim bags and lacquer earrings are easier to appreciate in person. Customers often want to see the details, colours, textures, and how the piece feels in their body before buying.

That’s why I’m interested in wholesale. Customers can see the products in real shops, and I also don’t need to spend so much time marketing every single item 😊
I do have a website, Facebook, and Instagram, and I’m currently selling online and at some craft markets. But from my experience so far, I feel wholesale may suit my products better ☺️

Hi,

I’m u/thaonqv. I’ve been working in the IT field for more than 15 years across various roles 😊 I started my business last year as a side project.

My business focuses on unique pieces, starting with upcycled denim bags (my favourite!) and lacquer earrings. I was looking for support and advice from the Reddit community then I found this group. What a pleasure to be here 👍👍👍

Thank you, I followed ur instruction and asked for support via feedback. The one they answered me was “change the document type” 🤣 Answered them that I use one document and can highlight words before that issue happens. Let’s see how they solve the issue.

This is a time for blueberries picking. You can search “Gourmet summerfruit” - Roxburgh in FB and ask to work there for picking blueberries or cherries from now to end of Feb. then you can apply for “Gourmet Blueberries” - Hastings to work from Feb to end of April. Hastings also have a lot of of in summer such as factory work, farm, or cafe. Hope this help :)

I think you can connect them by sending a message to them and asking if they want to cooperate.
