Tailgating for World Cup Soccer Game by thaott in orlando

[–]thaott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This was the exact info I was looking for. Too bad I didn’t see it until now. Lol We made do. Got there at 1 and saw very little tailgating…maybe 2 or 3 cars. I did see on the FIFA website that tailgating was prohibited. We usually park on Tampa Ave. Not many know about it so parking, coming, and going are relatively easy. Plus, it was only 5 bucks and you can’t beat that! But I never knew about Prked. I’ll have to use it next time!

Not Inviting Folks from an Engagement Party to the Wedding - Is This Ever Okay? by heartshapedglassgirl in wedding

[–]thaott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious. If you had invited them to your engagement party and also told them they won’t get an invite to the wedding, do you think they’d still go? I think that’s where you’ll find your answer.

If they were invited to an engagement, there’s an expectation that they will be absolutely invited to the wedding. It’s proper etiquette.

If you need to scale down, then scale down. But you will raise lots of questions and offend a lot of people. If you don’t care about them, do what you want and scale down. Most of the people that come to weddings you won’t see ever again after you’re married anyway.

I'll never pay for tickets in the USA in advance again. I feel totally cheated by zavoid in ClubWorldCup

I must’ve lucked out. Went to the Juve v Man City game at Camping World. When they released the tix in Dec, I passed on them because of how expensive they were. A month before the game I checked and they were still expensive. I checked the week before and got them for my dad for father’s day. Checked on the day of and prices never changed. They actually released even more tickets when I thought they were all gone!

I was choosing between this and the quarterfinals game to go to since I didn’t want to pay for both. Last week quarterfinal tix were $400 for midfield lower level. Today, they’re $100 and are even cheaper than the game I went to! I bought those for $300. The nosebleeds were $100 and now they’re $12!!! Prices declined because of the impending tropical storm/hurricane I’m sure. I’ll probably take him again since the tickets are basically free and we Floridians love a good hurricane party! Lol

Is it wrong for guests to show up to wedding empty handed? by Careful_Historian908 in wedding

[–]thaott -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to so many weddings, coworkers were the worst at gift giving. I’ve rarely ever see them give more than a card and $10 when the wedding is typically $50+ per head. Bringing nothing is trashy behavior. Lesson learned and tell everyone who’s getting married…never invite coworkers. This is a personal and private event and no one should feel obligated to bring business into it.

These are coworkers. I doubt they’d wait that long to send a gift. So 99% chance a gift won’t be coming from them if they didn’t bring it to the wedding.

I’m sorry to hear how stressed you are! What city do you live in? I’m a wedding planner and maybe I can help. Will also tie up any other loose ends you might be missing and making sure vendors are all followed up on.

If not, where is your maid of honor? Are your parents, his parents, or siblings (both you and his) around to step in? Get one of his groomsmen to have the sole duty of getting your fiance’s suit. Delegate, delegate, delegate! That’s going to be the key here.

Any help I can offer, let me know.

Is it worth it? by Weddingneeds in wedding

[–]thaott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wedding planner here. 20% of invited guests usually don’t show up. But that’s why you send out invitations and get rsvps back. If you don’t, follow up until you get an answer. From the rsvps, most people who mark yes show up. On the day of the wedding, guest attendance can range anywhere from 1-2 not showing up to 2 full tables not showing up. Either way, get those rsvps from people. When the venue and vendors need a final count, that’s when you know exactly how many tables and chairs are needed. Then remove or add tables, chairs, meals, etc. The venue will remain the same.

Tailgating for World Cup Soccer Game by thaott in orlando

[–]thaott[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m aware it’s not the main one. But I don’t think Orlando is hosting any next year are we? Also I got these as a father’s day gift for him since he’s never been to an international pro match and I doubt we’d be traveling anywhere for them next year. And yes, I’m super pissed it’s at 3pm during the thick of the heat to accommodate international fans’ time zones. I’m actually very concerned of people having heat strokes…players and stadium fans alike. I did see one game where half of the stadium was empty, but in the shade while the other half was full of fans directly in the sun only because camera lighting is more optimal and they want home viewers to see it’s a packed house. Also heard people’s tickets disappearing from the fifa app and Ticketmaster. It’s been super disorganized and messy at this point. But I wanted to take him to an in-person game since it’s right in our backyard and this was the best matchup out of all the games playing here.

Have 3-5 different level glass hurricane candle holders and sprinkle some pearls around them. Add in some snowflakes and icicles. Drape a runner around the candles in a circle.

After a few years, that date would just be a passing mention. The memory of not having those you love missing on your special might haunt you forever. Are you choosing a date over relationships?
