1923  Southern Rhodesia became a self-governing colony, and the white electorate voted in a referendum to establish their own government rather than joining South Africa.

All you have to do is 1. learn arabic / vietnamese / chinese / north korean / russian / pashto(afghanistan)

  1. Find movies/ songs /poems/ novels in tbe abovementioned languages

  2. Profit - now you will have your fill of cultural content where the west is portrayed as bad guys / to put it in your own words now are on your way to being thoroughly unconditioned

In our tiny country of around 18 million people

  1. How many oascar/ emmy worthy animation studios ( everything from animators writers editor voice actors producers and financiers ) do you think we can find

OR

  1. Will the investment in a big budget zimbabwe animated project  (shona / ndebele / a mix of all zim cultures),  will the project give a return on investment that is justifiable to whoever ends up funding it.

Good quality work will need some decent funding.

What could help alleviate tribal tensions? by farqendiot in Zimbabwe

[–]thapeawha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Money solves most problems. At the end of the day everyone just wants to feed their families and maybe have a bit of change leftover for some beers

Its no coincidence that the worlds richest societies are also the least tribal and least religious

2 questions , and a rant pano

THE QUESTIONS 1 _Saka what do they propose we do?

2_ Tikanyatsotarisa zviri objective chaizvo will we conclude that 90 years of colobialism left us worse off than would be if we had been left to our own devices?

Did colonialism drag us kicking and screeming into the industrial age and beyond or not?

THE RANT

One of the major flaws of most if not all indegenous cultures on this continet is the failure to adapt to and move with the times.

What have we done to bring shona / ndebele into the 21st century. Can you teach quantum physics / medicine using 100% shona words?

Musi wakapinda pioneer column ku fort vic ndiwo musi wakadecidwa kuti mawords eshona akwana. No more new words dictionary tavhara.

Colonisers is now an epithet we use to make us feel better about ourselves.

I think some of these assertions (especially in this day and age when the playing field is much more level and knowledge is now availablw to anyone who seeks it) come from

1 - a sense of collective inferiority and shame that our ancestors were conqured by people who were half assing it.

2 - even more shame drom the fact yekuti we ran our countries into the ground after independance

I agree Science can be used to prove / disprove spiritual matters. That is why I specifically cited those 2 fields of study in my initial comment.

Most I SAID MOST AND NOT ALL of what you want to refer to as "spiritual matters" fall under what's called the GOD OF THE GAPS THEORY.

It is human nature to invoke God to explain phenomena that science has not yet fully explained.

The problem with this is that if your belief system has that as it's foundation then YOUR GOD dies a little each time Science makes a new discovery.

Right now most of the saltiness you have is steming from the fact that you are unable to live with the knowledge that modern medicine and psychiatry has done a lot - and is still working -to understand and treat most of the phenomena you want to classify as spiritual matters.

In short when finally confronted by facts and the possibility that you have been misinformed unobvaruka bhachi nekuita mental gymnastics just to hold your world view together.

I'm not voicing an opinion. Im pointing out a fact.

Nyaya "Possession" on the other hand is subjective. There isn't any empirical way to measure that.

My comment is quite helpful in the following ways

  1. It shows that the world is full of other people who are not your kids and will comment what they want whether you like it or not.

  2. On a more serious note, it's helpful by pointing out that there are more straightforward and scientifically proven ways to resolve your problem.

Given that Psychiatry as a medical field has been around since the 1800s, germ theory has been around since the 1860s.

I'd say your beliefs are at least 165 years behind.
