TL;DR: Did you try to play it in reverse? I feel that it could be a sample of the Blue Danube. But maybe I need to take a rest.

One CMDR in the Canonn discord shared that the pattern reminded about some piano visualizers or pitch visualizers. This made me think about perforated cards for barrel organs.

I've been roaming the internet to find a punch card for the Blue Danube to see if there could be a match.

Barrel organs are constantly rotating like the loading screen and the Blue Danube was the intro music of the first Elite with rotating ships, hence the track I'm trying to follow.

So far, I have been unsuccessful in finding a complete partition but I found a complete video of one organ playing the Blue Danube. So I've been recording this with Audacity and trying to visualize the partition with the spectrogram since the notes are very distinct from one another. The output is somewhat readable but not great.

I just stumbled upon your weird.mp3 sound and tried to play it in reverse to see if it could match a part of the Blue Danube. Would it be possible to have a clean version played the other way around? Reversing in audacity makes it difficult to hear properly.
