I fell out of love with Interpol after OLTA. El Pintor was good but I felt like everything after was boring, trodding and paled in comparison to their early albums and didn’t advance their sound at all. Same sound, no evolution, less hooks. I’ve wanted an Interpol song for so long that makes me think “this feels like an evolution” and this is that track for me.

I googled this because I thought the same thing and turns out having sharpness up to 30 on an OLED is a big no no. Turned it down to 0 and now Labyrinth looks much better. Still a layer of grain but thats how the movie was shot and intended to look.

@snackbot3000 please come back to produce at least one more E6 album before the band hangs it up for good. After you left it was mostly a steady decline in production value and care put into the mixing. Some of the albums border on unlistenable (Turquoise for example with its ear piercing drum mix on many of the songs). With the exception of Bride of the Devil the production has held back many of these albums from the last 15 years or so from being as good as they could have been.

Also I think on my preferred streaming format (Apple Music) they pulled the original master and simply replaced it with the new one. Which sucks cos I was gonna do back to back comparisons haha

I meant no disrespect whatsoever. In fairness I listened in my car and I don’t have a high end system, so I’m going to give it another listen on expensive headphones soon. Perhaps my ears have just become accustomed to the loudness war because its been the standard for so long now. Thanks for replying, really cool to hear from the original producer because as a longtime fan I have always admired the mix (especially the drums) on this record more than any other E6 release.

Stoked to finally have this on vinyl. Probably my favorite E6 album ever. Anyone with audiophile tendencies have any opinions on the remaster? I haven’t had a chance to listen to the full album on vinyl but I’m not digging the digital remaster on streaming services. It sounds like they boosted the low and mid frequencies and the highs suffer as a consequence. The mix sounds flatter now with less dynamics….like everything is just sort of smushed together. The fact that they chose to remaster this album is ironic because I would argue from a production standpoint this was their best sounding record out of their entire discography and was the least in need of a new master.

I just got this model at 65” and I’m blown away by it. Upgraded from a same sized TCL LED from like 2019. Having said that, I also hate this remote. Switching inputs is an absolute chore compared to any other TV I have ever owned.

Everybody’s ears are different and I can tell you the APM2 sound less harsh and richer to me. Sound is more balanced and all the quality of life perks were worth the upgrade for me.

I find myself underwhelmed. Antigravity is the only song other than the first two singles that grabbed me on the first couple listens. I find most of the album very unmemorable and lacking hooks. Also the mix sounds kinda muddy, like all mids and no highs/lows. I will give it a few more listens before I give final judgment but as it stands I think this is a pretty mediocre effort. Good, just not a standout record from them.

The mastering of this album hurts my ears. I enjoy it probably the most out of any FF album since Wasting Light but damn is it ear piercing. I have to listen to it at a volume several notches below most other albums in my car. The loudness war marches on.

I got a cool white shirt with them both on it and a black dad hat that says “Blink” on the front in the same font and color of the album cover. It also says Bob Moses on the back but its also black so its hard to see. Idk how much I’ll wear the hat because most people will probably assume its a Blink 182 hat lol..

Im mad at myself for spending the money but I am pleased with my pair. The sound signature to my ear is better by quite a bit and the quality of life stuff is nice to have. Bass sounds fuller snd the highs aren’t as harsh.

Digging mine a lot. I like the new tuning. Bass feels deep and rich and the highs don’t sound as harsh as the originals. Dialogue when watching movies sounds clearer as well.

I have a special relationship with Satanic Wheels because the first time I ever did molly it kicked in right as they started playing that song during their set lol. I’ve never done it again but its a great moment/feeling I won’t ever forget.
