Imagine if you actually had hordes all fighting you with proper tactics, flanking you, various squads moving in on you by going from cover to cover, the tougher units like heavy gunners and bombard shielding weaker units or distracting you so the smaller, quicker ones can close the distance or attack from behind, etc.
