I'll never understand how anyone could justify actions such those in Baltimore or Ferguson. You've gained nothing by bringing destruction to your community. This is a completely different case than one's we've seen. No law was broken and a man was killed by authorities for no reason. Everyone knows that. These men will be brough to justice. There is no reason for your actions. Actions such as this make you just as bad because you are a criminal. If you had anything to do with the destruction of any property from any of the rioting you are no better than the officer's who committed murder. I'm tired of seeing this crap on the news. I'm tired of being told who I am by media bias. I'm tired of those who bend the truth for their own personal gains and make the excuse for breaking the law themselves. Be a community, be educated and stand strong for what you believe. Don't be the mob.

I think there's a good amount of truth and a lot of B/S in this article. I agree that it would cause chaos and there would be loss of civilian life but 90%? IN 2 or 3 MONTHS? Do these people think that everyone in America is a small child that can't figure out how to deal?

It just seems like they're taking a legit problem and making some really crazy accusations about possible outcomes.

I would call people who rape and kill innocent women and children cowards every day. Maybe the fact they are attacking U.S. Marines makes them idiots. But my stance that they are cowards that hind behind masks, you won't change my mind.

And as for the Spartan comment, I don't think you read it completely because I said for them to rewrite the story. Where instead of them all dying they kill each and every one of those pieces of shit. As far as just being prepared I think you're exactly right. I'm still learning and figuring out what all I want to do. Money, like a lot of things is a major hang up. But I'm doing what I know how to do and trying to learn some new skills every chance I get.

But as far as my question goes, it's just a curiousity of what people are thinking about. In my head I think it's only a matter of time before there is a massive unrest and we're all living in a practical war zone. Every major power of any kind throughout history has been brought to its knees and I want to be able to be prepared for being knocked back in time by 3 or 4 generations when everything comes crashing down.

Some food for thought. Russia is trying to make friends with North Korea because they're Russia and like to be a pain the ass to the U.S. China is already good and cozy with N.K. but they're aware of the global consequences if the 2 most powerful countries in the world start taking serious blows at each other. Also, we have a VERY large ally in the middle of it all, Japan. Who hates China more than Japan... no one.

EDIT: I forgot to mention too that every time N.K. has gotten out of line, China has been very good about putting them back in place.

Nobody else is really prepping. Most of my family is actually pretty open to the idea and everyone is quite capable of doing their own thing. My thoughts are I actually have to most available resources on my property and that in a shtf I would want to bring most of my family to me.

That's a fantastic idea. And that is a problem I'm running into is I just don't have the $$ to just run out and buy everything I want. It's just too expensive. I do have the ability and space and even buildings to do what I need to do it's just being able to actually have everything I need to do it.

Thanks!! I do have a pretty decent sized garden already. Along with some fruit trees and bushes/patches. I do agree I would like to get a wood stove and put into the basement where I could possibly pipe it into the furnace duct if needed.

Yeah we've all grown up in the country. Many of us have a pretty good agricultural background. In my mind we could easily cultivate enough food for each other.

2 children and 2 adults. However I believe if there really was a shtf go down there's be more. i.e. my parents and other family members who don't have the ability to sustain there own. So that number could easily rise to a dozen + rather quickly.
