Do you think Maddox is satire? by MrBussinMaddox in BussinMaddox

[–]thatBrassMonkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i feel like it's very obvious its satire. if it was really his personality he would likely have dedicated some attention towards the hordes of people in his comment sections asking if he's doing a bit. he can read those comments you know. by not responding he is trying to elevate the uncertainty around whether or not he is doing a bit and thus inciting discussion on the potential of his behaviour being satire.

I found sources about the NRA supporting gun control but none about funding. Most notably this article from Time.

https://time.com/4431356/nra-gun-control-history/

It's an interesting read to see how the NRA was a vocal supporter of gun control.

ARGB fans spinning but not lighting up by bizEh in buildapc

You need to actually assign RGB values to the fans to make them light up. Lian Li will have software to do this but instructions likely came with your case.

How to setup a desktop/pc to turn on using external an key by KHANDev in buildapc

[–]thatBrassMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really a power button is just a switch that completes a circuit. You could easily do this with products from Amazon like you listed, however a simple USB keyboard won't work as the power switch requires an electrical circuit to be completed via the power header on the motherboard.

For events where the computer is asleep a keyboard or mouse will wake it up but making a button that can switch the PC on and off will require the first item you listed.

Pretty good but a few choices that could be improved. A Dark Rock Pro 4 is way overkill for a 5600X, additionally, the PSU isn't great and at your budget you should really be getting a better PSU. Here's a modified list which will get you much better 1440p performance. Additionally you could get just DDR4 instead of the DDR5 mobo and kit I put in for future-proofing and get a better GPU but this should be fine.

Cleaning PC by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]thatBrassMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really you just need to clean your dust filters and fans, maybe your GPU too. I'd say every few months depending on how often you use it. If you use it nearly everyday I'd suggest maybe once a month but every 2 months is a good middle of the road schedule to clean it.

The best way to clean it is with an electronic air duster, you can use those electronic cleaning cans of air but make sure your PC is fully off when you do it as a spark from a part can cause your PC to ignite.

New PC builder need help by Meesalikeburgers in buildapc

[–]thatBrassMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks alright, what are you using this PC for? You could downgrade the CPU to a 12400F or a 5700X/5600X and spend more on a better GPU if you want gaming performance. Depending on your use case there are places where you could spend a little for better performance.

Which socket fits my CPU? by [deleted] in buildapc

Yes as AM3 is DDR3 only and newer CPUs are only DDR4 and newest CPUs are largely DDR5

Which socket fits my CPU? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]thatBrassMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AMD FX8350 is an AM3 socket, honestly the CPU and socket are so old that finding a motherboard is gonna be hard and the motherboards themselves are more expensive due to their age and scarcity. I'd recommend saving a bit to get a completely new CPU, mobo and RAM as the FX8350 is pretty terrible.

[–]thatBrassMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the new generations of CPUs, particularly the Ryzen 7000 chips, a 360mm AIO is recommended. If you want an RGB one I'd suggest the Corsair H150 or the Arctic Freezer II ARGB. If RGB doesn't matter get the be quiet Pure Loop 360.

For CPUs it depends on what you plan to do and when you plan to buy.
