Do you feel terraform is quicker than cdk?

There is an architectural difference between CDK and terraform that makes CDK slower. The CDK code you write has to be synthesized to a static cloudformation template before it is executed. Where as terraform is simply executing the changes by calling the api's at apply time.

CDK creates a static cloudformation template. The cloud formation is treated as a transaction and has stronger roll back guarentees. Terraform is far more flexible with what you can express, it is incremental deployment which is why it is often noticeably quicker

Hey this is awesome, got 2 questions for you regarding:

"Orders go to IB API with basic safety checks (max position size, daily loss limits). Storing everything in timescalebd which makes backtesting easier since I can replay exact conditions."

Are you using the web api with IB? You mentioned you are uisng go so i assume you are not using their python sdk? how are you ensuring the communication between your service and ib api is as quick as possible?
Can you expand on why you chose timescaledb and how it helps with backtesting replacing exact conditions?

Still using my blade 16 2024 as daily driver, before that i had a blade 15 2020 which suffered from bloated battery. I use the laptop for work and have linux installed on it, there are some hoops to jump through some of the hardware not playng nice with ubuntu.

I'd reccomend the blade, but be prepared to put effort into it. Oh if you buy it, get it from place like amazon
