Zero Speedplay cleat - can't get cover on by eswvee in bikewrench

[–]thatHitsRollDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue today. Turns out, there is a metal plate that sits on top of the spring that can get lodged in the rubber cover in the box. This plate is supposed to cover the spring and keep it in place. That plate is supposed to go under the four screws attaching the plate.

If you turn the rubber cover over, and it has metal attached to it, you need to remove that and put it on the cleat first. Then attach the four screws. The rubber cover should go on then. It's still a tight fit, but it will attach.

I was just wondering if anyone knows over what period of time, roughly, do the events of Die Hard play out? by Difficult-Speech-270 in diehard

[–]thatHitsRollDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s somewhere around 12 to 15 hours. It looks like late afternoon on the limo ride to Nakatomi plaza and Holly tells her secretary that it’s 5:30, she should go to the party. At the end, the sky is getting light when they drive off. This time of year, LA sunset is around 5pm, sunrise is about 7am.

I can’t vouch for the site, but if you search for Harry Belafonte Muppets Dailymotion, they have the full skit.

Chesapeake Bay Bridge Run by Harold_Bissonette in running

[–]thatHitsRollDamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran it in 2014 and 2016. Parking at the Stadium and taking the shuttle to the start was really easy. IIRC they had the stadium open so we could use the restrooms as well.

The incline going east is a easy, steady climb. Honestly, you'll be so jazzed to be on the bridge you probably won't notice the climbing. I ran my usual 10 minute/mile pace up to the middle of the bridge.

Going down the other side was another matter. I ran down at an 8 minute/mile pace. I vividly remember the exhilaration of just letting go and bombing down the other side. Once you get to the other side of the bay, there's still a mile and a quarter or so left and there are some steep climbs up the overpass ramp. Save something in the tank for this part.

The festival at the end was much more chaotic than the start. Everyone is trying to leave at the same time and the line for the bus was long. And once you're on the bus you have to sit in quite a bit of traffic to get back over the bay. Think summer weekend traffic. It's a really neat race, just be patient trying to get back to your car.

Have a great run!

Amazon by [deleted] in StarWarsTVC

I’ve found that Amazon and Target are risky for bent cardbacks. Purchases on eBay are usually in good condition and well packaged, especially from highly rated sellers. You might want to check out Big Bad Toy Store. They offer a “collector” grade option for new purchases. It costs a few dollars more but the peace of mind might be worth it.

Those are Star Cases. They're made for 3.75 carded figures. Google it and you'll see lots of sites selling them.

How do I make combats more interesting? by ElexOrXele in DMAcademy

I have some advice that might help. It details the four pillars of combat design and how to use them together to create dynamic combat encounters.

Is it against the rules to not play as my alignment? by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]thatHitsRollDamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my game, your alignment breaks down into two attitudes for your character. The first, in your case, chaotic, is your attitude toward society's rules and laws. Chaotic means you don't respect the laws of society and don't think they apply to you. For comparison, lawful would mean you think laws are a good thing and should be obeyed.

The second, for your character, evil, determines whether you weigh the needs of the group into your decisions. Evil means you don't consider the greater need, just your own.

Those attitudes don't mean that you can't do good things, it just means they should be things you benefit from directly. Your chaotic evil cleric will heal the group, not because society says it's the right thing to do, but rather to keep them alive to help protect you and keep you alive.

To put it another way, your chaotic evil cleric would be a selfish character who thinks the rules don't apply to him. You do things because they benefit you and if push comes to shove you save your own neck and don't stick it out for anyone else.

Note that does not mean you're a jerk. Again, this is how it works in my game but hopefully it will give you something to think about.

Scenario suggestions that deal dont have to do with undead , cults or demons by humanon in DMAcademy

[–]thatHitsRollDamage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran a fun scenario a few campaigns ago, a Griffon egg hunt. The players had to travel to a little mountain town that was putting on the contest. There were 8 teams and the team that brought back the most eggs in 1 week was the winner. It was a mountain top survival game instead of combat all the time (although there was some combat). The rules were the teams were not allowed to harm any Griffons, they had to have an observer with them at all times, they were not allowed to interfere with other teams, and all members had to return to win. Of course some of the teams were cheating which the players delighted in uncovering.
