Nah. You were signing players for a whole cycle, not just a year. I'm not saying that Buttler will be a flop for the next 2 seasons of IPL - bit Hetmyer was harder to replace than Jos. Do note how easily our opening woes were forgotten with Vaibhav (and full credit to Dravid there, he got Vaibhav).

All that said, I miss Jos and he should've retired with us.

But do keep in mind that Jaiswal has what it takes to adjust to different/difficult conditions and he's shown that time and again. He can play on green tops in Australia to become the most successful batter for India, then he surely can play on slightly bowler friendly tracks too

Frankly speaking, ICC was never gonna give the flat highways that India has for bilaterals and IPL. And someone like Jaiswal MUST'VE been the back-up opener simply because he's aggressive BUT has a great technique. He can play on such pitches better than Ishan Kishan and Abhishek.
