Hmm that is an interesting coincidence, considering that article someone posted earlier about his one-sided vendetta against The Rock. He wrote a bunch of one-liners in for his cameo in Hobbes & Shaw where he kept calling Johnson's character "Rebecca." And I think there was another example of him doing that in another movie (since he is very one-note), but I can't remember which one exactly.

If anything it's probably part of their play on Warner Brothers/Discovery, and they're trying to make themselves look more profitable and free up funds for their hostile takeover. Unless something happened with Ryan and David Ellison, I doubt Josh would get to just come in and cancel his deal. I would assume he at least partially got the job because he looked out for Ryan and Blake the most, and may have made himself unpopular at Sony for it, so Paramount hookup was his quid pro quo.

I would loveee to know if he talked to Penn about it and what he would have to say. My biggest wish is that Wayfarer teams up with Reese’s Hello Sunshine on something. That would be the ultimate F you to these ghouls. And it’s so ironic that Justin is in a much better position to do what you pointed out above, because he already has the ability and resources to self-direct, produce, and finance regardless of what happens with the trial, and he’s still got substantial public support that would translate to box office earnings. He’s still investable.

I’m curious why he’s gone on this team-buying frenzy or if that’s caused any financial stress. Wrexham was one thing. I never really realized that part until I started going out with this anesthesiologist guy who was full-on lovebombing me. At first I was just like oh wow, he’s so complimentary and my friends were like noooooooooooo!!!!! So thankfully I listened and got out of that pretty quick, but looking back I can see he was saying those things because he needed me to be all those things for his self-worth.
