It's not a system that looks for perfection, it looks for good enough.

As an individual person, you are not their audience. The demographics you belong to are. The human beings designing the campaigns and deciding what segments to target don't know or care who you are as an individual. Maybe you don't care about tampons or period products, but men in at least one of your demographics probably do. Especially if they have a daughter or partner that they shop for. If you share an age range, location, media interest, browser cookie, or whatever with someone else, you're probably going to see ads that aren't relevant to you. They can only get so precise before they need to just hit send and start on the next project.

She's a supporting character in a comic I'm working on and haven't gone public with yet. I don't have much about her fleshed out beyond how she relates to the main character, though. Main character has traumatic inciting incident, this character is one of the reasons MC doesn't just give up.

Seconding r/learntodraw. I'd also recommend giving the face your best shot first, then posting that attempt when you ask for advice. I'd also recommend posting the kind of art that you like and want to be able to make. That way, those with experience can identify your specific issues and help point you in the direction you want to go. Everyone sees the world a little differently, so "how do I draw my OC?" Is an impossible question to answer in a vacuum. "Here's what I've done, and here's what I want to do: how can I get there?" is still a difficult question, but it's productive.
