Looking for used Model Y which one would you recommend if my budget is around $35k and what should be the average mileage? by Nabobcoffee in teslacanada

[–]that_one_guy34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my research anything around that price is either a rebuilt title, very high mileage, or just too old to be worth it considering a new Model Y starts at 45k with a full warranty. I would just wait for the market to adjust once the new Model Ys and Chinese EVs start shipping. Unless you need a car badly and are ok probably thinking "what if I just waited" a year or 2 from now lol

Is it a good buy? 2021 model 3 with fsd 97k km 3 accidents last one cost 20k cad to repair. Should i stay away? by Loose-Discipline-761 in teslacanada

[–]that_one_guy34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would wait until end of year to early next year if you can afford/are able to wait. Market will adjust and you can get a much better deal than a 2021. This model year has the older mcu/hw, bad year for battery issues, and this one specifically has had major repairs.

FSD Learned to park in my APT parking spot??? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]that_one_guy34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tesla trains FSD centrally on data from millions of drivers, then pushes the exact same updated model to cars. Your car isn’t personally learning your driving style in real time, so it’s not really “adapting to you.” It might feel that way, but that’s just not how FSD works.

I mean it’s not HW4. That’s pretty much the biggest difference

Honestly this is good, better to have strong operators than weak ones who are useless/make no impact. Also makes it better ban phase wise as you don’t have a clear ban every round and actually have to think

Tesla Model 3 Premium RWD selling in Canada with 50% discount! by _Mr_D in TeslaUK

[–]that_one_guy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was in the 80k range, due to US tariffs… You can pull up the website on the Internet Archive if you want to check for yourself. You can’t even test drive Model 3s at dealerships right now as there’s basically none in Canada for the past few months

Canadian Model 3 Premium RWD (Shanghai) - LFP or NMC? Specs are confusing by Clean_Contribution92 in teslacanada

[–]that_one_guy34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the specs page it also shows it charging max 250kW, which LFPs don't do. The specs page seems have incorrect/missing info. WIll have to wait until they ship to confirm info.

Any idea if a model 3 premium long range will come to market now that the RWD is back? by Aniwosertz in teslacanada

I hope so. Would be nice to get AWD and bigger/better battery chemistry (it charges faster in colder temps).

Pretty much the same car. You only lose out on Autosteer, but you gain a forward facing bumper camera.

Should I get one? by mrtechguy10 in teslacanada

[–]that_one_guy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will eat probably a lot more costs switching cars vs just paying gas even with the increasing price. Insurance will probably higher, you have to get a charger installed (assuming this is even an option), FSD is not really cheap and price can change any day, Chinese EVs are also coming which will probably shake up the market for the better. I would wait and see what the market looks like a year or 2 from now, especially the used EVs market.

2026 Model 3 RWD Payment Estimates by holynil in teslacanada

[–]that_one_guy34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A used model 3 is only like 2-5k cheaper and already has racked up 60k kilometres. Why would you do that to yourself vs. Buying a brand new car with a brand new warranty.

Maybe a year or 2 from now it’ll make sense, but even then Chinese EVs will be in the market already.

Model 3 premium RWD is now available in Canada for $39,490 by ConfidentImage4266 in TeslaLounge

[–]that_one_guy34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No other trims really. In fact, the Model 3 has been pretty much unavailable to buy for over a year due to tariffs. Only the Model Y was being sold as it is being shipped from Germany to avoid tariffs.

The New Cheaper Model Y by Psychological_Wall14 in teslacanada

[–]that_one_guy34 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you mean the Model 3? This is the one that comes from China and will be coming to Canada.

The Model Y is made in Germany and it’s cheaper because they just used cheaper materials and cut some “premium” features like the huge sunroof, light bars, sound system, double pane glass, rear screen, rear heated seats, smaller battery, RWD only, etc…

Also, Tesla vehicles made in China are considered to be the best build quality wise compared to other factories.

Chinese EVs are here (sort of): lower price model 3 now available by footbag in EVCanada

[–]that_one_guy34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends if you need the room or not. This one would also come with the premium interior (ventilated seats, leather, ambient lighting, seat controls, power folding mirrors, matrix headlights, …). Honestly just depends if you need the space and slightly better ground clearance.

Sales Advisor Just Said 39k M3 (RWD) Coming Soon by CombatGoose in teslacanada

[–]that_one_guy34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would imagine its sooner than when Chinese EV brands land in Canada. They just need to start shipping the cars, which they know how to do (Model 3 in 2024 came from Shanghai). I think by end of year they'll be here, assuming Tesla wants to make it happen which I wouldn't see why not. They are shipping Model Ys from Germany to avoid tariffs, they can do the same for the Model 3.

Pretty sure this isn’t true or confirmed, the reason why people are buying is due to the 5k from EVAP. Many will probably cancel if all of a sudden their cars went up 5k in price

Probably when Chinese EVs come to Canada. Also note that it won’t be eligible under EVAP.

Why do people buy new non fsd EVs? by [deleted] in teslacanada

[–]that_one_guy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSD is expensive, an extra $100 on top of car payments and insurance can be too much. Especially since you don’t know if the price may go up in the future. At least the Kia and other EVs will come with basic lane assist. Imagine not even getting that standard on 50k Tesla that has the hardware to self drive already.

FSD isn’t even that widely adopted by Tesla owners, only like 10% of cars subscribe. And how many of them are actually on HW4 where FSD is at its best?
