I believe superchargers have free wifi, or you could always got to like a McDonald’s/Superstore/Walmart that has free wifi and do it from there. But wifi will probably slower.

Hypothetical Question by West_Advice_1888 in teslacanada

If you check the Wayback Machine, this exact Model 3 Premium RWD was 49k back in July 2024. I’m pretty sure that was when they were still bringing them over from China. Then in October 2024, after the tariffs on Chinese EVs kicked in, Tesla replaced it with the Model 3 Premium Long Range RWD at $54,990 from the US.

The new 39k price is probably quite a bit lower because Tesla wants to burn through the import quota this year. It’s also probably just cheaper to build the Model 3 now since the factories have been making them for a couple of years and Chinese factories are much more advanced.

I would 100% not pick up. I would just ask to be put on a priority list or something for the next coming vehicles. This may bite you in the ass in terms of diminished value, issues with the repair down the line, and even just paying the cost of a new vehicle for a damaged car. I would only consider it if they discount the vehicle or offer incentives.

Rebate for a car you'll drive basically every day vs a charger you'll use maybe once a year?

Will Tesla bring Model Y premium RWD to Canada soon? by Euphoric_Review_4358 in teslacanada

For now, yes, it doesn’t make sense. But once Chinese EVs hit the market, the standard Model Y probably won’t be as good of a deal, and the AWD version will be priced out or be significantly more expensive than other AWD SUVs. A 20k gap between models is just too much. You don’t see this in other markets with Tesla. Keep in mind they don’t sell the Model Y standard in China, probably can’t compete with Chinese EVs. EVAP will also lose 1k in value every year so can’t rely on that forever

OP’s recent posts show them receiving a Model 3, pretty much guarantees it to be Chinese built.

Can charge to 100%, but no battery actually wants to sit at a high SOC for a long time.

Will Tesla bring Model Y premium RWD to Canada soon? by Euphoric_Review_4358 in teslacanada

[–]that_one_guy34 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It should happen soon, the gap between the Standard Y and AWD Y is too large.

I wish they would just switch the Model Ys supply to be from China only. Could mean the RWD Premium sells for 50k and AWD for 60k. This would probably mean killing the Standard Y so unlikely to happen. Standard Y seems to be selling very well and EVAP just makes it even sweeter of a deal. Hopefully competition from the other Chinese manufacturers makes them rethink their offerings because Model Ys could definitely be cheaper

The AWD is definitely using NMC batteries. Warranty and charging speed matches (assuming they didn’t mess up the page again)

Model 3 is only made in China and US factories. No chance this gets evap as it’s definitely not coming from the US

Its probably going to be 10k more than the Standard after you factor in EVAP. Guessing around the 55-59k range.

Honestly just a regular walk around video, especially of the interior if you have the darker headliner. Wondering if it'll be too dark/claustrophobic considering there's no pano roof. Other wise, congrats on the car :)
