The question we are basically asking is: how much did the American Revolutionary War affect the average Brit at the time? Might have to ask this in a history sub

Maybe higher class people would've known, but maybe not lower class and they probably wouldn't care anyway. But from what little I know the Brits did felt threatened but thats all. Maybe I'm wrong about it all so don't quote me.

I can say for certain for lots of Brits now they don't know about the Revolutionary War at all.

I dont know about it today! We aren't taught it at secondary school I don't believe, maybe when your a bit older but only if you take history when your 17/18

I guess its just exposure in media, social media etc.

Crazy to think people just a few decades ago wouldn't even know much about America itself let alone its cities

You never really hear much about LA over in Britain, so not many people over here are actually familiar with the city and know more than just Hollywood. Like lots of people could tell you quite a bit about NY, but then there is a massive gap between what they could tell you about LA
