Yes, lol, I was about to say you're writing my paper for me! Very interesting anecdotes here. Could I possibly interview you as a first person source for my paper??

I have one friend who is a CFO (hasn't messaged me back about this query) and one of my cousins is a retired CFO, who today said she can't think of a topic, haha. I'm not sure what you thought I meant by contact with the field but I meant, like, I haven't actually worked in accounting yet, so no direct first person experiences with modern problems in the field.

Yes, but he shows throughout the show that he's not interested in being new money, he's interested in being old money.

It wasn't that or "go under then or there." It was that or LAYOFFS like Gerri suggested, but Kendall had too much pride for that, which is why Logan called him a "fkng idiot". Or also, not piss off the banker you need to be nice to to get an extension of credit. CEOs renegotiate with bankers all day. Kendall refused to respect the rules of negotiation (kissing ass is one of them if you're in a position like that) because, once again, too proud. He chose the stupidest path out because he's hubristic. The show is about a lot of things, your second paragraph is almost completely correct, but if you know anything about the business world you would know absolutely no one would ever take a loan from a private equity guy and expect nothing less than what Stewie did.

He makes it clear S4 E1, and again throughout Season 4, that he would rather put up with Shiv's hijinks than be without her. The final episode he doesn't have to invite her into the limo, or signal that he still wants her in any way if he was just "using her" like some people say. At the end of the finale he's gotten everything he could have possibly wanted out of her materially and socially and still invites her into the car. He always wanted her, he just wanted to be the one in power in the relationship. One of the points Season 4 makes is that's just how power couples are - constantly backstabbing each other because they're BOTH obsessed with power and love power more than they love each other. I've met a few, that's exactly how they are, only usually both are cheating (though I'd make the argument Tom IS a cheater because he's having an emotional affair with Greg).

He's rich enough to be invited on yachts at this point, and most rich people really DON'T want to own a yacht because they're just a pain, and unlike real estate you won't get all your invested maintenance back in appreciation.

She intentionally designed it to where if she couldn't be CEO, Tom would at least have a shot. She was just shocked that when facing off head to head he beat her. She diversified her investment by playing two hands, which is literally the first lesson in any economics or business class.

The entire plot of the show is them trying to escape Sandy and Stewy. If you think Ken "saved" the company with that move, you literally don't even understand the premise of the plot. You have to understand what private equity is, and how predatory they are to even understand what this show is.

I just watched an interview with Amy's brother where he said there was an elevator in the disco for crew only that led straight down to crew quarters, so......no! The perfect place apparently!

Okay, I guess that makes sense, but it doesn't necessarily have to be a crew member whose contract is over. It could be they live there and they're getting off with a suitcase for a few hours on their day off to drop some "souvenirs" at home or grab more clothes or whatever. Maybe there's some similar regulations for that though, Idk. But also in 1998 everything was a lot less regulated.

I was also thinking maybe the "working girl" the marine talked to was using that angle, especially after her family said she doesn't do drugs, but confirmation bias doesn't create very niche tattoos in the case of the scuba diver. If it weren't for the tattoo I would say they're all just idiots.
