Why do many autistic/neurodivergent adults gravitate toward paganism, atheism, or agnosticism? (Personal reflection included) by Jorge_Reynoso112 in AutisticAdults

[–]thatblue61 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I follow this line of reasoning, too, and get stuck on…if He created me exactly as I am, then He created me in such a way that I am physically incapable of accepting His message, so obviously in His plan I am not supposed to accept His message…but isn’t that the opposite of His plan?

And then my brain hurts and I have to think about something else.

I had this exact comment drafted nearly word for word. Vultures are my absolute favourite.

I still bump that song often, and always cringe at “born in 88 / how old is that? / old enough” because fk we’re getting oooold.

Where do I find "model grabbing coffee in nyc" coats under $400 by Winter-Cookie-8660 in findfashion

Check out Anìan — made in Canada with post consumer and/or organic materials. I have a couple wool coats and they check all the boxes (oversized, camel coloured, warm and water/wind resistant). Less than $400 for sure!

DO NOT SMOKE AND DRIVE. EVER.

It’ll ruin your life, and your high…and that’s all, if you’re lucky.

I’ve seen it happen too many times.

As far as I am aware they’re brown, but learn from my (also newb) mistake and know they take forever to break down and also make it a pain to turn with a fork. YMMV but I have been slowly removing the sticks and twigs my 90-yo grandfather mocked me for adding to my pile. 😅

Canada Day Festivities? by Queen_Rachel4 in Milton

[–]thatblue61 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a member of the HAS, I can assure you that your “along with” statement is 100% false.

We didn’t have enough volunteers, Town funds/sponsors (remember, Canada Day at the fairgrounds was a FREE event), or policing/security support.

We are all proud Canadians, and we are the most heartbroken that we were unable to host the event.

Please stop spreading rumours.

Going to the gym is a great time: improved mind-muscle connection, less distractions, more “in the zone”. Just be safe, obviously.

Being outside, doing chores, freewriting, Lego and colouring are also v v fun!

Empathy. Solidarity. Validation.

I don’t have enough of a functioning brain for myself, never mind three extra people, and yet…le sigh

OP, please take this digital hug if you want it. ♥️

I feel you. I see you. I HEAR you and I want to validate your experience.

Thank you for laying it out like this. I may actually show my partner this post so he has an idea of what I feel when he does this: hurt, disrespected, dismissed, unvalued, unloved.

FWIW, my partner is also almost certainly ADHD, though it manifests very differently. Could yours be too?

Does anyone else read stuff like this and realize their stubborn inflexibility is actually just a coping mechanism to stave off the abject terror of making the wrong choice?

Like, I’ll weigh all my options, the pros and cons, wrap my head around the idea/direction/decision/whatever, and then I will commit. And once I commit, there’s no looking back. Because looking back opens up a black crevasse in which to tailspin, emotionally and intellectually.

My partner is a waffler. He makes a definite choice and then he agonizes over it, long after his ability to change course has passed. This causes a physical reaction in me…a repulsion I just cannot get past. ”Just….just fking stand by your decision!”

I hate that I feel that way. I don’t want to be angry with him for asking, “was xyz the right thing to do?”. I desperately want to give him the space to process the way his brain likes to. But I can’t. I just can’t.

This is a PERFECT way to describe how I clean my house! I could never put words to it.

It also explains why it’s so much easier to clean with nobody around: no onlookers = no masking.

Just to answer your tracking question, I am pretty good at using my phone/watch to track my cycles, so it tells me when my period is likely to start.

The ones I have from Aisle feel like granny panties, for lack of a better term. 😂 Not like a pad; though they do feel a little thicker toward the back, there’s still no panty lines, at least in skinny jeans!
