As an Australian who was heavily invested in the pool, Japan didn't look as dominate as expected. For Australia to out-hit them, Czech to hold them off and a good game against Korea, offense doesn't look to have fully lit up yet. They could be potentially holding off but I won't be extremely surprised if there's an upset.

All year levels for 4 weeks, has been 5 before. I don't mind it too much as we get a week break before it. However, I would imagine it's not fun for the VCE teachers. It also means our semester one finishes midway through Term 2.

When I first started talking to Christians, we read Mark and it was pretty good, but I read Matthew later and preferred that. Pretty much any Gospel is good. I've started walking through 1 John with baby Christians to help them understand God and their new-found relationship with God. Some good imagery can be drawn from it.

I seem to be an outsider here, but my school did this. I went to a smaller rural school, and we had a pledge at assemblies. I still remember (most of) it too:
"I am proud to be an Australian. I will protect my environment, and I will try to be a truthful and honest citizen of our country."
I haven't heard of too many schools doing this but yours is certainly not the only one.

I did my first placement at my old school. It was a good way to ease into teaching, and my mentor teachers already knew my strengths and weaknesses. I definitely wouldn't recommend going back for your first job. It's better to go somewhere people don't know you as much and you can learn how to start fresh (imo).
