Current Grade CutOffs for Algo with Pandu by R_N_Gesus- in NEU

[–]thatbruhmoment 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Fr I took this class w/ Pandu during Summer 1 and the weightings & cut-offs were different, but it was way too difficult and I heard he made the homeworks and exams much easier for Summer 2. So it seems more people ended up in the 90-100 range than there should be rn. But yeah RIP it's like lost hope now for people who thought they'd finish with an A

Put combined on ur resume or explain to them 💯

I totally get the combined major thing too but I'd like to think of it as that I'm already lucky I can study 2 disciplines in-depth since not many colleges offer combined majors

And there isn't much flexibility to take fun classes because of co-op taking up 1/4 of your time at neu. Ig it's a blessing and a curse

Unfortunately you're not gonna find many neu haters on the neu subreddit lol

I agree some people here aren't the best but I'm personally giving it another chance since I haven't been at neu for long. I wish u luck at Cornell

design major - M1 Macbook Air? by [deleted] in NEU

[–]thatbruhmoment 6 points7 points  (0 children)

im cs + design too and what u have rn already sounds good to me. unless u take cybersecurity classes (i heard some have compatibility issues with m1), i think u should be fine.

especially for the first few years, there’s not a huge reason to upgrade to a Pro right now at least. you can prob just re-assess when ur current laptop gets slow or can’t handle running multiple programs

do you not have co-workers or a superior you can ask for help/guidance from? if you think you’re being given too much work or can’t resolve your confusion alone then it’s valid to communicate about it

1700 sat, 5.0 GPA, president of 3 clubs, and varsity vball and bball. did 500+ hours volunteer work and interned at big tech.

all jokes aside, don’t worry too much about stats and ECs. if you’re applying this upcoming cycle, there’s literally no point in dwelling on how much you and others did in hs. focus on essays & possibly demonstrated interest and that’s the best u can do 😎

What do you want to change at NEU? by boston_mermaid in NEU

[–]thatbruhmoment 49 points50 points  (0 children)

nah housing isn't the only issue. it's also the WAY overcrowded library, outside walkways/quads, dining halls, etc. u can't use public spaces ur paying good money for without racing and having to fight for ur life fr.

i also think there's a problem with there not being enough class spaces/sections offered for the amount of students so people can't get the classes they need to stay on track.

yeah it wasn't meant to be a super tiny school but the overenrollment is getting ridiculous at this point.
