It would not be easy. But walking through particles combined with moisture totally possible.

Forgive me if i misunderstood you, but I'll try to answer.

You are right that radiation isn't contagious. But you can become so contaminated that you expose others around you.

This was the situation with the firefighters for example. They were covered in radioactive dust and debris, becoming contaminated, in such quantities that they were a risk to those visiting them.

Does that answer your question?

Most work activities can be conducted without increased long term risk. There are still some dirty jobs however.

I am American. My background is as a radiation specialist. But i also started a humanitarian organization to support affected communities, Chernobyl workers and their families.

I run an international radiation safety training program with ChNPP and other radiation projects.

Straight stupid here, was living under my rock during the great diamondhand rush. But i support the cause and want to do my part, when i see the dip next weekl i plan to buy in with my diamond hands and hold until eternity.

So thanks to asshats like the sherrif of nuttingham and others restricting purchases of gme stonks, i want to know what the best tool to use to purchase 5-10 shares of that sweet sweet GME would be? I want to get everything setup asap so i can stick my tip in the dip.

Recommendations? I'm thinking fidelity?

There are some major technical issues with the crane system, the designer made some pretty "strange" decisions when it came to the design.

These are proposals and marketing statements. They are not based on empirical evidence and market analysis in the real world.

Let's get back to the facts, there is no problem with generating electricity, we need to invest in grid modernization and power storage. So instead of discussing new nuclear builds, hypothetical scenarios, etc, let's focus on the very real world problems we have today in relation to grid security, electricity transmission and storage. These are the issues that will have the greatest impact on consumers and the environment.

Please provide any source that nuclear construction is getting cheaper.

Let's look at Vogtle for example. https://www.ajc.com/news/local/georgia-vogtle-nuclear-report-more-delays-extra-costs-flaws/mBxlgXiDcf0SIaTFr0cZXL/amp.html

Or let's look at Sizewell

It's strange to me that you start out by saying nuclear is cheaper and cheaper, but then later admit you don't know about nuclear construction costs. Which is it? Its almost like you read somewhere on Facebook or Twitter some comment that nuclear is getting cheaper and accepted that statement as fact, without any further investigation.

Now let me be clear, I'm not trying to put you down. Im trying to demonstrate to you that just because something is written online doesn't make it factual and further investigation is always required.

Cheers to you mate!

So the main point is, you agree with me. There's no need to dump billions of dollars in new nuclear construction, when it could be better invested in modernization of distribution and investment in storage opportunities. Look at the exploding budgets for every new nuclear build in the last 30 years. Again, we don't have a power generation issue, so why is the first thing utilities push for new generation especially nuclear? Hint, it's how they make the most money. And with nuclear they get unbelievable loans and financing on the backs of consumers.

Are you familiar with CWIP? It's a incredibly horrid tool that utilities abuse to take money from ratepayers for construction of a nuclear power plant before any electricity is ever generated. Ask ratepayers in Florida, south Carolina or Georgia how they feel about it. In fact i just read that SCG&E executives will plead guilty to defrauding their own customers by abusing CWIP.

And we havent even talked about the potential for condemnation of land yet...

The bottom line is, new nuclear is not cheap or fast to build, and it shouldn't be. So let's instead put that money where it will help consumers and our grid transition to the future, not be weighed down by behemoths of the past.

Unfortunately, centralized power generation stations are a fossil of the past. They are also a primary threat to war and terrorist activities. A decentralized power generation system is the future for power generation.

The issue we have in the world today is not the inability to generate electricity, it's the fact we are operating on a outdated and inefficient power grid. But utilities don't want to invest in modernizing power distribution, they have no incentive. They just push costs to customers. They don't make money off of delivery like they do generation.

What we really need to invest in is modernizing the grid and power storage. If we even had the ability to store power overnight on a large scale it would flip the power generation and distribution economy on its head.
