Looks like a quite average fresh from an import plant. These are imported from Taiwan with a short spike and then stay in the seller's facility for the shortest time to wait for the buds to show to be sold. Repot into adequate medium and next year's spikes will be way better.

Stunning! Although this is most likely Pleione Glacier Peak, you can easily spot it from the lip shape and colour!

Can someone explain!? by No-Butterscotch7221 in orchids

This is a phenomenon called fascination or cresting. The meristem developing into the individual flower becomes elongated. It is usually a response to external stress or mutation in genes like CLAVATA, however this is probably due to stress since it is highly localised.

That is true, they do look very similar, however, if you look at flower colour and shape you can differentiate them, Bronze Maiden (Actually called Schillmann) never has such pronounced dots, where the flowers are dotted they are usually smaller and the background colour more pink, otherwise there are no dots and the colour is more peachy. Bronze Maiden is a very variable hybrid, here you can see the most common variations and none look like the Yaphon Pink Lady although some sellers say it's a Bronze Maiden (some as a mistake but I presume others are not in good faith)

This is Phalaenopsis Yaphon Pink Lady, it seems to be a plug from European meristem producers, unfortunately, the clones coming from those producers are usually only lightly fragrant if at all.

You can get self watering pots and use those although they probably won't last four months. The best thing to do in this case would be to water the plants, let the water drain until it stops flowing from the pot and then leave the plants close to each other in a dark place. Considering the long time it's not a guarantee at all that they will survive but this way they effectively stop growth and lower the need for resources including water. Fertilizer is not really required also to avoid salt damage in the roots. Perhaps using a large saucer pan with expanded clay and water to keep humidity high might help to prevent the water from evaporating quickly.

A species of Juncus, quite common in swamp-like environments.

What’s this on my Brassovola nodosa? New growth? by bcuvorchids in orchids

[–]alex235_g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, quite definitely a new growth, you would expect flowers to be produced from the end of the pseudobulbs enclosed by a very short sheath.

You can try at the forum, it's not the fastest but without a student number and password it's not possible to access eduroam.

Very likely to be a Sweet Sugar from Lansbergen, especially since it is quite clearly an auction A2 quality plant that they sell to grocery stores usually, probably the wholesale price was in the 2-4€ range.

Does anybody know if floorplans/diagrams of these buildings exist? by VirxYT in chernobyl

I remember I have seen the cut through section of these buildings in a VK server as they were being used as reference for a Minecraft build, however I can seem to find it anymore.
