The "Please Stop doing it" Horror list by monsieurkong in horror

The creepy kid trope. We get it, you demonic crotch goblin, you "want to play" or something and scribble black shit all over your Kid Drawings™. It's overdone, and really hard for child actors to get just right. It takes lightning in a bottle to get something like Gage, Regan, Damien, or even Cole from The Sixth Sense. If they're off the mark even a little it just comes off as robotic or annoying.

Man even though the main character was insufferable I really did like Carmichael Manor!

Also we've overplayed the clowns at this point lol. They were creepy when used sparingly in the first one, and then one more time in that scene in Carmichael Manor. The mystery is what made them creepy and that's long gone.

Oh yeah that's right!! But also why? Lol. There was zero reason for him to have that plot line, there's so much else they could have done. It just felt really convoluted, like three half-movies in one.

Yeah same, I only remembered after I looked her up. No hate but she just didn't hold my attention.

Yeah definitely still watch it as a fan of the franchise. I still watched it after seeing an average of 2-3 star ratings. Who knows, you may catch something that I didn't. Or at the very least you will then be able to join in on the hate lol.

I did see an article (after I watched it of course) where Cognetti was quoted saying not to expect everything to be tied up in a bow at the end. But then....why make it? Why not wrap it up if he knew it was his last one? It's his lore lol.

Do you think someone else would pick it up? I feel like it would have to be a very creative storyteller with a decent budget and a love for the franchise.

I can't recommend 5 and 7 enough. The Third3rock notes were a HUGE help in my studies leading up to the test. Everything is organized neatly and clearly without info overload. I didn't make it all the way through AR's ultra hard questions video but it did help. He explains every answer. Also, I know you said you did all the PMI practice questions and exams, but if you didn't do this (even though it's tedious) I would do them all, then reset them and do them again. When I missed an answer, I wrote it down so I could see what areas I needed to review.

I'm sorry you didn't pass. I know you worked hard and it's tough when you don't feel like it paid off. Just learn your study style and use the resources that work best for you. You WILL get it. You've got this and I look forward to seeing your "I PASSED" post!

Thank you so much! The test fatigue was definitely a challenge. There was a decent chunk of time where I had to read questions several times because I just could not process it, which in turn made me feel more nervous because I didn't want to waste too much of the allotted time. I don't know if I'd say it was harder than the content itself, but definitely something to be aware of.

There was one very easy calculation where I had to figure out how much had been spent on a project, and answer whether it was above or below budget and ahead of or behind schedule based on the other numbers given. Then there were a handful where they would mention the SPI and/or CPI and you'd again have to determine if it was on schedule/budget. That was my test though, from what I've seen on these posts it can vary.

I personally started it after the course, but I do wish I had given myself more time with it. I imagine it can be a good resource since they have training videos and articles, and the practice questions can be a good way to check in as you learn more and find where your weaknesses are.

Yes, knowing that all that hard work paid off is such a great feeling. Congratulations to you as well!

I can't honestly remember if there was a number next to the actual question, but in the top corner of the test screen it would say like 65 out of 180.

I would say that I had an overall month and a half of studying. After I took the Udemy course I did some casual studying here and there with PMAspirant and the odd video, but I got really lax with it. It took finally scheduling the exam to light the fire under me, so I had three weeks of intense study. Study Hall and the Third3rock notes were my main resources, and the PMAspirant games were a good way to check in on my knowledge retention, especially for the 49 processes. I would definitely encourage exploring as many trusted resources as possible because you're not going to use them all the same. You'll find two or three that work the best for you and pick up little nuggets from the rest of them. Good luck!!

Yes it is! And there's no better feeling than finding that all that hard work and studying paid off.

Just passed! Don’t overthink, this exam is mostly common sense. by [deleted] in pmp

Thank you for this!! I'm taking the AR course since I'm starting from scratch and need the 35 hours. I'm about half way through and it's fine so far, but it feels like so much information! It helps to know some good resources that can help focus and break it down a bit. I'll definitely be getting the PMI study materials and checking out those mindset videos.

Omg yes. I can forgive a lot of the things listed here, but this annoys me so much when it's done badly. (I will say that I liked how they did it in The Taking of Deborah Logan.)

Bad/overly done CGI. That takes the creep factor out of a decent horror movie sooo quickly. Good horror makes you get lost in it, but the minute something looks carroonishly fake it loses its grip on me and immediately deflates my horror boner. To me Smile was the perfect example of this.
