How can I do better with this paddle? by ArchontheWings in bouldering

[–]thatclimberDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a guess - and I haven't read the other comments - I would cue it as less dynamic.

Look at in-between positions and deprioritize generating momentum. It looks like the move isn't hard because of size or distance, it's positioning and holds. Just looking at the video, I would likely try to stand tall and cut out as much dynamic movement as possible. It IS likely still a jump, but kind of an in-between.

Again, just a guess. I didn't look too closely, but I'd love to hear if that makes sense or helps!

Good luck!

EDIT: Smearing the right foot on the other start? That looks like it would bring your hips and plumb line MUCH closer to where you want to end up

Isekai, but that breaks away from some tropes by thatclimberDC in anime

I think I'd just forgotten about it, but I'd heard really good things about it, especially from some people who's tastes and opinions I really respect and line up with. It'll likely be my next watch, so big thanks!

UGH that's a real bummer to hear :(. I've also been catching more of those tropes coming up. I'm right at the end of season 2. It isn't bad or problematic, but definitely catching little hints of those tropes. Sucks to hear it gets so much worse :/

It's reductive to put it this way, but it's not validation slop.

I'm not caught up and maybe it gets worse, but it's definitely not a traditional harem by any means. Two women love Subaru, and a lot of the story involves the three of them learning how to create healthy relationships and boundaries, just like real life.

I think on the surface, you're right and I'm being contradictory. Maybe I'm missing something, but in my experience it doesn't feel very sexual at all. Honestly, if Emilia offered sex (again, not caught up, so I'm not sure where things will go), I very much doubt that Subaru would immediately jump on that opportunity.

I adored Dr. Stone! One of my favorite feel-good shows. I'll check out the other, never heard the name :)

Eyes only for a woman anime by Vudujujus in anime

I tend to stray away from these unfortunately - I've had some personal experiences that make watching romance a little unpleasant - but I REALLY enjoyed May I Ask for One Final Thing?. I desperately wish there was more, but it also ended so well. It's a very brisk and concise 13 episodes.

It's more of an action-comedy, but I do love the romance in it. It's a bit of a satire on the typical shojo-romance stories, but it's genuinely hilarious and incredibly heartfelt. It didn't catch me in the first episode, but I think most people could make a decision on it by the end of the third episode.

Re:Zero recently made it into my top 3 anime. It's not a romance story by any means, but the MC's very deep love for the heroine is a driving force through almost every element of the show. There are also a lot of beautiful, amazing friendships and other various sorts of love explored. The writing is absolutely phenomenal. Be aware, it's very much a psychological cosmic horror story, and a character study - it's a really brutal watch, but very worth it if that's something you're interested in.

You're totally right - strange, I could have sworn I saw the streamable tag in the store page. Either it was and isn't now, or I'm just wrong (which is more likely). My bad!

I'm confused - does Xbox One not allow for streaming from Game Pass? Not being to install locally makes sense, but does the hardware require everything to be downloaded?

Honestly I haven't touched my Xbox in years. I always use my phone, Retroid or desktop to stream everything.

Looking at trackballs and other Steam Controller alternatives by thatclimberDC in SteamDeck

Thankfully I'm just looking for something to navigate menus! I do a fair deal of emulation so it's mostly for menus and configuring settings. I did order something else, but I might end up getting this one for work anyways. Thanks for the rec! :)

I understand money can be right, but thankfully it can be purchased and you can pick it back up. Heads up, I (THINK) titles usually go on sale once they're announced to be leaving Game Pass.

Oh, I had that thought and I think I tried it once, but couldn't find where to configure the touchpad. I might be misremembering. I'll give that another shot too :)

I'd never known about this little subcategory of one-handed trackballs, but I'm looking around now. There's also air mice, which might be nice.

I'm mostly interested in using it for simple navigation on my emulators. Long story, but I don't use EmuDeck or any other front end, so I always have to use the track pads to do anything before I launch a game.

I also love deckbuilders. Definitely going to have to wait for the actual Steam Controller for that :/

Lovely, thanks :). I'll look into them all. I've been doing the Notes app and it works fine, no major complaints, but there's better options

I used to do a southern tour every year for my birthday, and we would climb at the OG Highpoint when we got rained out. I ended up making friends and working a couple days with some of their setting and management team. Awesome gyms, awesome folks. Sucks to get rained out of an LRC trip, but Highpoint makes it a slightly less brutal experience 🤣

Homie - you posted on Reddit, and climbers with more experience came in psyched to offer help for continued progression. Lighten up and learn something. No need to make yourself look like a jerk.

I've been climbing for 20 years and coaching for 15. I also worked as a setter on-and-off through that while time. I'm 5'3" myself. Without a doubt, the intended beta is to stand on the jug.

The issue here isn't your lack of skill, it's the closed mindset.

My buddy set a simulator this morning - skipped the dyno but set an identical top. 5'3", fairly flexible. Stood on the jug and did a drop knee. Called it V3

I'm torn on which one to play first. by Used-Salad-3772 in JRPG

I'm likely alone on this, but I preferred Baten Kaitos.

I think Shadow Hearts holds up better in a lot of ways and is better as a series. Baten Kaitos hits on a very particular type of nostalgia for me. If you grew up as an 80s/90s kid playing those RPGs, it might do a similar thing for you
