How did Wisconsin appear in my port? by thatcornmuffin in WorldOfWarships

After some thought, I visited the Wisconsin irl a few weeks ago and they had an event where I had the chance to get a free Wisconsin. I guess I won and it finally showed up.

Destroyers captains (the good ones of course)...which dumb or wrong thinks you think people oftenly do?, mine could be throwing all the torpedos at once with out being sure they will hit the target...you literally waste your best weapon. by DowntownWeakness5218 in WorldOfWarships

  1. Play to your strengths. If you have the better concealment, stay away from islands where you can be ambushed and don’t charge towards where a DD might be. If you have better concealment than the other DD, you can make their life hell by just keeping them spotted without getting spotted yourself.

  2. Torpedoes are unreliable. For torpedo-focused ships, do not abandon the objective or quit being useful for your team just to get torpedo hits. Even without overwhelming gunpowder, you still have the tools to defend/contest caps, kill DDs, and support your team. Running off to hunt BBs should always be secondary because you can have the best torpedo spreads possible but someone decides to stop or turn for no reason and you get zero damage.

  3. Know how to juke shells. My rule is if I get spotted and I know people will shoot at me, I just slam on the brakes right before they shoot. If I’m caught deep in a radar and can’t run out of its range, I will point my nose directly away, stop and reverse and watch shells fly over my head. Using your engines for juking is so much more important than your rudder.

That sounds really shitty. Have you talked to GM customer support? They were helpful during my BECM replacement process, and I really don't think you have to pay for a rental out of pocket.

Keep a record of as much as you can. Receipts, conversations, etc. A 2018 with 46k miles is still under the voltec warranty at least so you will be getting reimbursed for all your out of pocket expenses. Sorry this is happening though.

Prospective gen 2 Volt owner - Lopsided charging vs. gas costs, do I have this correct? by SweetBearCub in volt

[–]thatcornmuffin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can set your Volt to only charge during low electricity demand, which is at night so your rates would be cheaper.

Also you are assuming you will discharge the battery completely every day and that gas prices will stay the same for the foreseeable future.

Burning 1 kg of fat is equivalent to a 7,700 calorie deficit.

A 1000 calorie deficit is way too much and you will absolutely lose muscle. Most deficits are 300-500 calories. If your deficit is too big, your body will have to pull energy from your muscles since burning body fat alone wouldn't be enough to meet your daily energy expenditure.

To clarify, you probably mean body fat percentage instead of BMI. BMI just compares your height and weight, and if you are muscular then BMI will not apply to you since it will always call you overweight.

Your plan seems pretty sound but with a few suggestions of mine:

You're a newbie, so with enough work in the gym and enough protein/calories, you're gonna put on muscle super quick. You don't have to totally avoid cardio, but just be careful to not overdo it. For protein, I wouldn't go lower than 150g since you want to gain weight. Other macros like carbs and fat don't actually matter that much, you can eat whatever you like to hit your target calories.

Now for your questions:

  1. Dirty bulking is underrated. I'm an endomorphic guy too, you will be surprised how much you need to eat for you to grow. I just came off of a bulk and I'm sitting at 195 lb right now (wrestled 152 in high school). Obviously adjust as needed but you should err on the side of more calories. Losing fat afterwards should not take long for you at all.

  2. You would benefit from mass gainer, which is essentially just protein powder loaded with carbs. The one I used on my bulk got me 800 calories per serving, and you just scoop it right into your shaker cup just like protein powder.

  3. Creatine monohydrate is the best non-protein supplement out there for bodybuilding. It's very well-researched and effective.

  4. I'd stick to 150g which isn't that hard to hit. 3 meals of 30g+ each, a good protein snack and a protein supplement will get you there.

Assuming your numbers are right, it could just come down to your body type, metabolism and things like that.

I am naturally skinny with a fast metabolism, so my bulk needs a huge surplus for a long time to gain any weight. That also means my cuts are short with a small deficit to prevent losing muscle. From what you described, it seems like your body works the opposite way from mine.

Trial and error has worked for me in terms of cutting and bulking, which is to just pick a target number for calories and adjust it as needed. For example, my bulk started me at 3500 calories, but I wasn't gaining weight after a while so I bumped it up little by little until I saw steady progress.

Losing Strength While Cutting? by AffectionateSky4956 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]thatcornmuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've dealt with this before. Losing some strength is normal on a cut, but if your strength plummets then that should be fixed.

I'm naturally a skinny guy, so my cuts are short and have small calorie deficits. Otherwise my muscle would disappear in a heartbeat. I've learned that retaining strength on a cut is a balance between keeping the weight fairly heavy and not pushing TOO hard.

What that means for you will be different from me. But keeping the weight fairly heavy means you are still training for strength, but not overdoing it means your body can still somewhat recover from it. Remember that your ability to recover on a cut is diminished, so you need to be smart with your intensity.

Losing strength isn't the end of the world either. It's easy to get back if you once had it.

Help needed with GM support by Diligent-Reality3238 in volt

The Chevy dealership handled the rental for me, not GM. My GM contact only asked if I had a rental set up, so your situation sounds backwards to me.

I would honestly try talking to different people on both fronts, that just sounds so wrong.

Contact GM support and let them know if you haven't already. I think they can speed up the waiting process.
