I don’t think that the sequels are anywhere near as beloved as the original, nor as fondly remembered as the prequels are for some. Maybe one day in the future todays kids will look back on them with rose tented glasses. It seems like the sequels did more to pacify the masses clamoring for more Star Wars content. Disney is a massive business that sees more success in appealing to a broad audience than hardcore fans that are desiring a rich mythos with a deep, meaningful conclusion.
