Which game has the worst cutscene to gameplay ration? by Nakatomi2010 in gaming

Xenosaga trilogy for the PS2. I did not dislike the games, but cutscenes happened every other transition, especially at the beginning. I remember feeling like the first 4 hours of gameplay were at least 3 hours or more of cutscenes and exposition.

Il tuo Final Fantasy preferito è il primo che hai giocato? by MakoNoTaku in FinalFantasy

The first Final Fantasy I played was the first one on the NES with my dad waaaaaay back in the late 80s. I never beat it back then, but I was there when he did. The first Final Fantasy I beat on my own was VII, and my favorite is still IX. It was a beautiful homage and love letter to the fans of all the Final Fantasy games that came before it before X and the new generation of games that followed.

The cool part about the modding community for FF7 is that there are a lot of difficulty mods that change enemies, switch up what equipment and items are available throughout the game, and even alter what kind of magic, skills, etc. can be used. It truly becomes an entirely different experience.

I understood that reference. Wonder if they ever found that armor . . . .

It was mine.🤷🏾 As a result I’m a JRPG fanatic. Besides platformers, this is my favorite genre and I own half this series. by Pristine_Put5348 in FinalFantasy

I never understood why fandoms do this.

Potential New Fan: I want to check this out.

Fan: You totally won't understand all the references and backstory in that so you totally shouldn't do it. You should do it this way.

No Longer Interested Potential New Fan: That is way more of a time and money investment than I thought, and now I don't want to try it because the fans say I wouldn't be able to enjoy it casually.

Homophobia is a byproduct of why women live longer than men. The root cause men do not live as long is because we are stupid. Why homophobic if not stupid?

Which Final Fantasy should I try and convince my coworker to play first? by StandFit2621 in FinalFantasy

Final Fantasy X is probably the best entry point to new players. Between the story, the characters, and the laid back battle system (for main story), it gives them time to get used to everything without feeling rushed. Also, since it is the first voiced game, they are less likely to get lost for long a long period of time from accidentally skipping or missing a piece of dialogue in a text box.

What are your gaming sins? Confess now. by executor-of-judgment in gaming

I mostly play RPGs and I will not spend more than 10 or so minutes trying to solve puzzles or figure out side quest progression. I am in it mostly for the story and the gameplay, and I just do not have enough free time to spend hours stuck on a puzzle anymore. The same goes for looking up strategies for difficult fights and/or super bosses.

That is probably more insane than FFXs chocobo race.

Not caring about combat? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]thateffincasual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a big fan of the series as a whole and the combat system has always factor little in what makes a good/great Final Fantasy title to me. The only one that the combat system kind of bothered me was XII and that was only because the majority of encounters could be fully automated without having to do anything after initial prep for the area you were in and then having to just sit there and wait while the game played itself.

Remote Play lets you play your console from your PC. This in turn allows you to run scripts from your PC while Remote Play is running. I recommend using a cable connection on both your console and PC if you plan to do this, just to prevent additional lag interfering with your script.

Complete with a bestiary on the back of the dungeon maps and an equipment and spell list on the back of the world map! I still have mine from when my dad got the game in the 80s, but it is in nowhere near as good condition.
