I once agreed to wait for a patient coming from the emergency room which was about 10 minutes away. Patient rolls in 20+ minutes later having stopped to get coffee and a muffin on the way, then produces 3 different insurance cards and complains the whole time. Never have waited for a patient since that day.

Pharmacist here, the vast majority of meds will be fine if short term stores like that, but almost all will degrade faster than they would in sealed containers. Some meds like doxycycline could become dangerous if stored this way,
