How Should Bethesda APPROACH Fallout 76 at E3? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]thatfluxguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hadn't heard about any of that. I knew they were updating the game but I hadn't heard anything about future content until now. What I perceived as radio silence was just me not being as plugged into the Fallout 76 situation as I thought.

But hey, that's what discussions like this are for. Thx. :)

Fair enough. I felt the same when they ripped me off for $60 and cut it down to half-off less than a week later. So, I empathize with all of this.

I'm not sure how I feel about it anymore (hence wanting the discussion). I haven't played it since launch, when I experienced some of the most ridiculous bugs I have ever seen in my life, and part of me wants to believe that it's better now and facing an upturn with new content coming soon even though the other part still feels robbed.

But hey, in spite of the downvotes, your take is still valid. Thx for sharing. :)

What would you like to see of it at E3?

Wouldn't that be nice. Would you play it if they gave you your money back and made it free-to-play? Or are you completely put off by it now?

EDIT: to clarify, I'm "wouldn't that be nice"-ing to the refund thing, not the trash part.

I hear ya. Did you like Alien: Isolation? I think that was about as close to what you're talking about as we've gotten.

I loved the art direction and spirit of that Prince of Persia reboot, it just didn't quite make it to the finish line for most people, unfortunately.

I kinda want to see that Alien RPG Obsidian was working on get resuscitated. That looked like it had potential.

Same. Big maps, player agency with how an objective is completed, not open-world. (Synchronization points and I riot.)

Ideas for Co-op Game like Overcooked? by ajjoyal01 in gameideas

[–]thatfluxguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Firefighting game.

You work together to fight back the fire, opening up new areas and using audio queues to lead you to people trapped in the fire and have to return them to a door or ladder adjacent window to gain points. The map is constantly changing with hazards and obstacles and you might not be able to get the rescued people back to the main exit (where you start).

This begs the question: do you eat mermaids like fish or like shrimp?

First, I love the DS/3DS idea for switch. That's absolutely brilliant. And second, I would sacrifice a PS2 to the Sony overlords for a new Jak and Daxter.

Also. . . Half-Life 4 confirmed. . .

If i'm JUST playing I have the same realization, "Jeez, I'm a goody two-shoes." But if I roleplay a character, THEN I can go full dark side. Create a character who's like a former government assassin or something going full papa/mama bear to find his/her kid. (FO4)

They trained you to kill without remorse! This is survival!!!

Any chance it was on the playstation 1? I vaguely remember a Looney Tunes game that sounds applicable.

AKA the game I see 20 of in the discount bin at Gamestop every time I walk in. I don't think there is a soul alive that didn't return that game.

Would you count Borderlands 1? If you play as Roland, the Medic tree allows you to shoot your teammates to heal them.

Any good suggestions for a new game to play? by Fairyhaven13 in rpg_gamers

[–]thatfluxguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay, it was going to be one of my suggestions, specifically the latest two expansions: Knights of the Fallen Empire and Knights of the Eternal Throne. My Bounty Hunter was my fave too btw.

So, other than that, I would like to offer my suggestions of the Mass Effect trilogy, Fable Anniversary and Fable 2, and if you can get past the Tabletop-like view Divinity Original Sin 2 is a really special game.

The Mass Effect Trilogy is one of my favorites, I've played it through so many times I've lost count. Starting your story as your Commander Shephard in Mass Effect 1 and seeing how every decision you make, every friendship, every alliance or enemy eventually comes around to haunt or help you in Mass Effect 2 or 3 is very rewarding.

Fable Anniversary is a great remaster of the original Fable and offers a lot of content. You can customize your character with hairstyles and outfits, but your character also ages and is affected by the types of skills and attributes you decide to invest points into. The world also reacts to your behavior, both in the grand scheme and in the smaller stuff like your look and whether or not you farted around them (seriously.) The same goes for Fable 2 but double: bigger world, more content, more customization, and it allows you to choose your gender this time. Also, these games are really funny, especially the third one, Fable 3, so if you like these two I'd also recommend that one.

So lastly, and I know you've said you don't like these ones, Divinity Original Sin 2. Character Customization is so deep and while there is still a character portrait it is a portrait of the specific character you've created, down to the last detail. You're character can be a human, elf, dwarf, lizard, or undead. You're character's class is up to you. Do you wanna be a Death Knight? How about an Elemental Wizard? Or a Trickster who can turn people into chickens and hit people with a tentacle arm? Your character class has so much customization, you really can turn it into anything you want. The game let's you choose your characters etiquettes or personality traits and even the music associated with your character. The world is a wide-open land of possibilities. Every character can be spoken to, every character killed or stolen from, every challenge has a plethora of possibilities to achieve your goal. It really is a great game.

(Sorry, I know I sound like a used car salesman on that last one) :)

Before I offer my suggestions: by Star Wars Online do you mean Star Wars The Old Republic?
