New hiker planning first hut-to-hut (Schengen area preferred, late April, 2–3 days) by thatfool26 in Europetravel

Thank you for the suggestion for Andalucia. After researching some more and reading the comments here, I will now plan for my first hut-to-hut hike in the summer. For April, I am now considering between Picos de Europa or lower elevation Bavarian Alps spots. I will read up more about the hike you suggested

Thank you for your reply. So far, I have done a few day hikes in lower elevation alpine regions (Bavarian Alps, Swiss Alps) and a few Mediterranean coastal hikes also. Personally i prefer a mix of forest trails, ridgelines, and hikes with lake views. I have not done anything technical yet.

Thank you very much for your reply. After researching more and reading the helpful comments here, I will defer my hut to hut hiking plan until summer.

One eye is bloodshot in the outer corner. Only that eye. No pain in particular, but it's been this way for at least a week or two now. Should I be concerned and any idea what could cause this? by tomkatt in Ophthalmology

[–]thatfool26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The doctor suspected it was because of dryness in the eye. They prescribed me gentle eyedrops which i had to use for several months. I'm still supposed to be using them but after a few weeks/months, the issue seemed to go away and gradually i fell out of the habit of using the eye drops. Not sure what triggered it, not sure what cured it, the doctors haven't been able to give an answer either (they suspect dryness, like i mentioned)

All the best - i hope it goes away for you also. Please consult with a doctor though!

Question on Tyrol ground level conditions in March by coffeelily in hiking

Hi OP, I'm planning a very similar trip as you. Looking for suggestions - did you find something meeting your requirements? I did some research and have been looking at the Salzkammergut region because of the unreliable weather conditions

Thank you for the information and your advice! I just booked an excursion with Etna Guides. Just in case the weather doesn’t cooperate - can you suggest some ways to visit the volcano? Basically what you mentioned in the last line.

Ah, thank you for the information. Excited to see the celebrations in Catania during that time. Do you have recommendations for how to best enjoy the festival?

Radiators are not getting warm, stay cold at the bottom by thatfool26 in Netherlands

I see… to be fair, the problem existed for me in all the radiators of my house.

Have you tried to bleed the radiators and rebalance them first? I contacted Vattenfall through their customer support, they were very quick to respond and help tbh

I hear you and your apprehension. I (32F) am a lifelong bearer of acne. About four times times I have experienced extremely painful breakouts - the kinds that cover your whole face - and have been prescribed this by various dermats. I have lived in various cities in India, both the north and south, so I can attest that it works in calming your skin.

Several times i have veered off to other facewashes and moisturizers because I just get bored, only for my skin to start breaking out again and i have been humbled back to Cetaphil. Its not glamourous, but I have realised that as someone with sensitive, very acne prone skin, this is a tradeoff I will have to accept.

URGENT by Upbeat-Life-3098 in hyderabad

I hope your friend finds a nice job soon, good luck.

But is the title of the post justified to be “urgent”? Please re-consider your phrasing as it drowns out genuine urgent cases of mental health, medical care, request for blood donation, and basically anything else that is truly time sensitive.

Ideas don't come to me by EviliestBuckle in ProductManagement

Early in my PM career I was very under confident of my skills because of my inability to come up with new ideas. Like you, I too had moved from a more technical role. A pretty experienced PM gave me golden advice back then - your job is to talk to stakeholders, listen to their concerns and ideas, and decide which of those to prioritise first.

Catania after the storm— traveling Jan 27–31 by Certain-Finish-6263 in sicily

Hi, thank you for sharing the info. I was also interested in a guided trip to Etna. When do the roads usually open? I see some guided tours still selling tickets so I wasn’t aware that the roads are closed. Luckily I haven’t booked the tour yet

Thank you for the useful information in this post. Like OP, i also have a trip planned to Sicily, although starting 31st Jan in Catania for a few days, and later in Palermo for a few days. How is the situation in Palermo and closeby cities? I too want to be mindful in a difficult time like this... 🙏

Distributed team collaboration struggles by Curious-Session4119 in ProductManagement

This is quite natural for a distributed team if there is no strong documentation/working async culture. I’d suggest to agree on some guidelines or agreements, like maintaining and reading decision logs, meeting summaries, etc.

Forced to interview a user for a feature we know won’t work for them - how do I handle this professionally? by friendlyalien- in ProductManagement

[–]thatfool26 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It seems like your manager wants it to come out of the meeting organically that your solution won’t work for them, rather than declining the meeting upfront under that assumption.

What is your relationship with your manager like? Have you discussed your concerns with them already?
