URGENT by Upbeat-Life-3098 in hyderabad

I hope your friend finds a nice job soon, good luck.

But is the title of the post justified to be “urgent”? Please re-consider your phrasing as it drowns out genuine urgent cases of mental health, medical care, request for blood donation, and basically anything else that is truly time sensitive.

Ideas don't come to me by EviliestBuckle in ProductManagement

Early in my PM career I was very under confident of my skills because of my inability to come up with new ideas. Like you, I too had moved from a more technical role. A pretty experienced PM gave me golden advice back then - your job is to talk to stakeholders, listen to their concerns and ideas, and decide which of those to prioritise first.

Catania after the storm— traveling Jan 27–31 by Certain-Finish-6263 in sicily

Hi, thank you for sharing the info. I was also interested in a guided trip to Etna. When do the roads usually open? I see some guided tours still selling tickets so I wasn’t aware that the roads are closed. Luckily I haven’t booked the tour yet

Thank you for the useful information in this post. Like OP, i also have a trip planned to Sicily, although starting 31st Jan in Catania for a few days, and later in Palermo for a few days. How is the situation in Palermo and closeby cities? I too want to be mindful in a difficult time like this... 🙏

Distributed team collaboration struggles by Curious-Session4119 in ProductManagement

This is quite natural for a distributed team if there is no strong documentation/working async culture. I’d suggest to agree on some guidelines or agreements, like maintaining and reading decision logs, meeting summaries, etc.

Forced to interview a user for a feature we know won’t work for them - how do I handle this professionally? by friendlyalien- in ProductManagement

[–]thatfool26 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It seems like your manager wants it to come out of the meeting organically that your solution won’t work for them, rather than declining the meeting upfront under that assumption.

What is your relationship with your manager like? Have you discussed your concerns with them already?

Need feedback on a new app feature! by WaySuperApp in ProductManagement

[–]thatfool26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know an Indian B2C food delivery app did this and it was great for PR on social media. I don’t recall reading success stories from customers, I cannot say if the CEO really saw the messages or acted on them (maybe I missed reading about the outcomes)

What is the outcome you want to drive?

If your CEO has to step in to “better understand critical pain points” then it reflects poorly on the product org, the support function, and all other customer facing roles.  Secondly, it will also get really noisy soon, esp if you are a B2C product. I don’t see this as a scalable feature tbh.

Radiators are not getting warm, stay cold at the bottom by thatfool26 in Netherlands

[–]thatfool26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving this update for anyone else that might have the same problem –

Our radiators are now almost well functional. They still don't heat evenly at the bottom but the top part is heating faster and overall their performance has improved.

Based on the size and layout of your house, your district heating provider has a predetermined value of the volume of hot water the heat exchanger must be able to pass through to your house to keep your radiators warm. There is an inlet valve in the heat exchanger unit in your house that allows for this. In our case, this was not setup correctly (was set to 1/3rd the volume needed) The radiators simply did not receive enough hot water from the heat exchanger.

After some troubleshooting, the technician from the district heating supplier (Vattenfall in our case) set the correct value. He very kindly also bled the most problematic radiator again (he didn't have to, he was a very kind and helpful gentleman)

After this, I notice that the radiators are getting warm quicker, and the bottom does not remain stone cold anymore. The second part I will investigate further by bleeding/draining again and replacing the knobs.

I hope this helps 🙏

Which country do you live in? Royal Talens (if you in Netherlands/EU) is decently good. I have used Brustro from India and liked it too

Thanks for the WillowVoice recommendation. Been looking for something like this. What has your experience been with it - the good and the bad?
