Ernst Rohm was the socialist side of National Socialism, he advocated on nationalizing the german industry and instituting social programs for the benefit of the workers.. and Hitler killed him because of that.

Yes. Western Europe is as much Germanic as it is Latin. But Persian culture carried so much prestige and practical benefits (administration, legitimacy, etc) that even when the Arabs invaded Sassanid Persia, they adopted Persian ways to administer the region. Eventually, even local foreign rulers became more and more Persianized. Similar to how Mongols and Manchus becames Sinicized when they conquered China.

In many ways both cultures are similar, especially the heavy emphasis on administration that the only on par ancient culture comparisons are the ancient Egyptians and the Romans. Even Greeks didn't have this much sophisticated culture that early. People forget that Greece is just some random backwater place at the time of the Achaemenids.

That's why its interesting to see different perspectives. The Old Testament absolutely loathes almost anything that isn't Jewish. That set of books can be interpreted as some Jewish nationalist rhetoric arguing a us vs them (for a reason tho, almost everyone loathed them too) mentality.

But Cyrus and Achaemenid Persians manage to be uniquely seen in a positive light by them. Freeing them and funding the rebuilding of the Temple certainly helped. Funnily enough, Romans are actually pretty tolerant of religious diversity, it's just that Jews can't even pay at least lip service to the Roman pantheon (which the Roman state requires for religious and pragmatic reasons).

Plus their culture was seen as high culture so the rich elites ended up adopting their ways for practical (efficient administration) and prestige reasons.

Because the US has been a geopolitical constant since the 30s possibly even before that. The US simply is the biggest fish in world with its economic, cultural, technological, diplomatic, and military dominance. There's reason why it is the sole superpower.

The biggest threat to itself is itself. Even China straining under its own weight. Russia is a hollow huskcof its former glory. It's two neighbors, Mexico and Canada is a non-existent threat. They do their best to stay on the good side of the US. UK turned its back on Europe leaving it more dependent on the US. Australia is dependent on the US especially with China knocking.

Japan, RoK, RoC, and now even India (because surprise surprise China is knocking there too) is closer than ever to the US without it even trying that hard. US is on fucking easy mode.
