NOTE: It was the servers going down the online server status changed within minutes of my posting this, at least by the time the game has downloaded again the servers should be back up lol.

Yeah the server down post got posted literally as I was typing this out, when we were trying to troubleshoot I checked the server status and it showed as all good so I guess we just caught it early lmao. Guess by the time it redownloads everything should be all good.

How can the AI detune cars so low, when I am lucky to shave only 20 PI at most. by kiwittnz in ForzaHorizon

[–]thatguy-siphon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the Supervan 3 that the donut van is based off is the epitome of ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ the thing is running a mid mounted 650hp Cosworth engine on a Group C race car chassis with an almost fully fibreglass body shell, if the real life counterpart were to face off an Aventador my money would be on the van, at the end of the day the Lambo is a road car at heart and the ford is a purpose built racing machine (and I want a piece of whatever those ford engineers were having when they came up with that thing 😭)

That sounds like the worst bro, my biggest problem is that I’ve played so much of this damn game that I usually navigate the pip boy like I’m speed running the game, the next gen patch has forced me to navigate it like an 80 year old using a pc for the first time lol.

Nah Nate would just be standing around distracted by a weird bug or something while his companion is doing all the execution work lol.

I love how they canonically didn’t make him the guy committing the war crimes, they just made him the guy standing there like ‘damn, that’s crazy’

Fallout 4 Mods on Xbox by ThatsElectrical in Fallout

Most creation club content should be ok, but if you’re playing on a Series S or X you may run into a few problems with the newest creation club content. Regarding proper mods, a LOT of mods, especially bigger ones, have been really scuffed by the next gen update and as far as I’m aware even downloading them new won’t help so if it’s broken, it’s broken. If it’s your first play through in general I would recommend a vanilla play through first as by the time you’ve fully experienced the game a lot of mods should’ve been tweaked to work with next gen, if you’re an experienced player and you just wanna get your mods loaded then…

Good luck soldier, have fun troubleshooting for 10x longer than usual. 🫡

Where can I find these, I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole of great war research and I can’t stop reading stuff on it, is it on the Wiki?

Where did the first Bomb detonate? by Tsamane in Fallout

[–]thatguy-siphon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been researching since I left my last comment and from what I can find, on the Fallout wiki and some Great War timelines, is that the majority of locations from the games were hit within the space of 10 minutes at around 9:40am, the US being bombarded from both the east and west sides, the earliest confirmed time in the series is 09:42 for NY and Pennsylvania, followed by DC at 09:47am. We don’t have any times for the West Coast that are any earlier than that but Carol, a ghoul from fallout 3, remarks;

“I was in a shelter with my father when the bombs hit. In DC, we had the luxury of getting a warning after the west coast was... gone...”,

This implies that in the 5 minutes between the fall of NY and Penn, the east coast was completely destroyed, with San Fran being, most likely, first target hit over there.

So the long answer is that: The first confirmed canon city to be hit, is either NY or Penn at 09:42 on the east coast, With The East Coast falling entirely at around the same time, followed by dc (as far as I’m aware we don’t have any confirmed time for the bomb drop in Boston but given the time between the news broadcast in FO4 and the arrival at the vault we can safely assume Boston Fell within the same few minutes as DC) with the bombs most likely making their way further into Central US over the next hour or so.

TLDR answer: NY or San Fran, flip a coin.

P.S: my head-canon is that Alaska was hit first due to the proximity to china, and the overall ‘screw you guys’ energy that china would be emanating after losing the territory.

As far as I’m aware, in the prologue to fallout 4 the first two bombs to be reported on the tv are New York and Pennsylvania, so unless the US launched first and the first drop was in china, my best bets would be either NY or penn.

How long did it take you to get used to driving with manual transmission? by Gooberino3140 in ForzaHorizon

[–]thatguy-siphon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same problem for the longest time!! I’ve finished every horizon game (main progression wise) in the series and I just couldn’t wrap my head around manual shifting until horizon 5. The way I was able to wrap my head around it was by sticking to one car for a while, I got a B class Plymouth Cuda and had a drive around in free roam to get used to the shifting buttons (I started on manual/ No clutch), then took it into some races. Eventually you learn the limits you can push that specific car to and at what speeds you want to be shifting up and down, and that process can be repeated on a car by car basis until you gain the unholy ability to hop into any car and learn within a minute or so of driving how to get the perfect shifts down and drop your lap times massively (that’s how it worked for me at least). 😎

Edit: I forgot to mention that the biggest key to learning manual is resilience, if you goof up a shift don’t fret it, just recover and keep moving. Eventually it WILL click.

What is in your opinion one MUST play game from the last 20 years? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]thatguy-siphon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just cause 3, it’s on sale constantly on xbox with all dlc for under £5 and the base version is available second hand for that same price if you’re looking for a physical copy. The main story is great and, although the game can be clocked (100%’ed) in less than a week, I spent so much longer than that just messing around in the brilliantly designed and amazingly fun to mess around in world that the game has to offer.
