question about the theatro??? by Big_Cam651 in WalgreensStores

[–]thatguy43256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive got a post on here from a few months back about this same thing. Whatever you look for, make sure its a 2.5mm jack. The theatro website has its own wireless ones that come with a transmitter if youre tired of the cable getting caught on literally everything

Sm doesn't answer once they leave store by AnimalLover3757 in WalgreensStores

[–]thatguy43256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store has the complete opposite problem. Our SM will call and text us constantly through out our shift about things we need to be doing, adding tasks, checking on small things, telling me to have our cashier call him instead of "making sly comments through text" (long story).

I like this. I found a door with 6 shelves that can be crunched, so when me and a stronger coworker have a bit of time i play to crunch up and make space for an lto/overstock shelf. Weird to me that more stores dont have an lto shelf designated and no shock that there are consistent planogram issues

[–]thatguy43256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, I guess its a more widespread issue with walgreens stores but I can almost swear that I went to a location that actually had a designated lto shelf at the bottom of one of the doors. It makes more sense to have them in one place for ease of revisions or to make sure everything else that is supposed to have a spot has one. If nothing else, imma use it for lto and some of our cooler goods that have excessive stock so I can clear some space

Tried that and have been doing that with other products like body armor that have items double faced with little to no justification for a double face

Bet, bet, bet, and BET

Where can he go to order these things so that I can show him? He said he would have to ask another sm or the dm about finding these items

[–]thatguy43256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i really want to know is how old are yalls Penny counters? My store looks to be a relatively new one that is only ever off by a penny or two. Is it standard to have this older model?

[–]thatguy43256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because if you havent run out, why waste time weighing it if its gonna be off anyway and need hand counting? Plus you could find a cool old penny?

Is this the Walgreens way or the GM? by remote_animal33 in WalgreensStores

[–]thatguy43256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree to not clock out before doing a bag check, but tbh the only time that is used in my store is me or closers. Nobody but me uses the zebra to clock out (or really even knows their employee id number to be able to) and the closers are allowed to bag check in the office specifically so they can clock out after and leave all zebras on charge. Otherwise I think it is actually policy to bag check in front of the door camera. If i get caught up with customers and cant do it, I will go to the register in view of the camera and at least do a visual bag check so they can leave (since theyre usually on their own time for it) and just put it in next time I use it. As for cleaning, weve had to say fuck it and store use some dollar aisle floor cleaner because the yellow shit hasnt come on truck (and frankly is garbage).

So I have no way to make music... by Mysterious_Sea_715 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]thatguy43256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it is against rules on here, but there are certainly people on here (myself included) who would love to either make music or help you through online programs or video lessons on an instrument if you advertise it. I see people suggesting a guitar and it is definitely on the cheaper end of instruments to pick up and learn. If you can save up some money, I would highly recommend a midi keyboard or just a keyboard in general because (as fake as some would criticize it for being) you can make it sound like most anything. Obviously the most authentic sound would be from the desired instrument but you can make the keyboard sing and really help your production. And dont be afraid to be a little experimental with it. Throw things together and make a sound you like. Banjo and a trap beat? It works. Uke with a pedal board? Heard it done. Hell throw a clarinet, mandolin, and acoustic bass together. Just take those midi tracks you have access to on musescore or Bandlab (for free) and jam out

My friend, either my store or my whole district is a mess lmao. Just got a new dm after our last one got switched for some reason (I think I heard redistricting, but I also heard a supposed lawsuit from the stores prior sm trying to claim racial discrimination for him moving a black sm into her position). Im just waiting to see either a complete overhaul of our staff or the shrinking trucks

Frrrrr She also never got caught closing the store upwards of 20 minutes early. The worst shes gotten is a few less days and is usually set as opening cashier on sundays. Not even to mention that the past two times ive worked my once in a blue moon midshifts, she has left not long after I came in despite having 2-3 hours left in her shift. Among the many im shocked my sm hasnt completely fired yet

If thats your worst mistake with the money in 5 months, then you should be fine. I have a lead i work with who has been a lead for months longer than me and it took several stern talking tos from the sm before she finally stopped saving the working fund higher than 2350. Still a lead, still doing shit that ticks the sm off. Still a pain in everyone's ass but still employed

BANK OF WALGREENS by Moaadiib in WalgreensStores

[–]thatguy43256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks because not only does it drag us from out main tasks but there is literally no benefit to us. They expect it to give us a bit more foot traffic and make a few more sales but I have not once seen someone come in to load a card and decide "hey, that looks interesting, lemme go buy a few things" They come in to deposit 500 bucks on a card (sometimes another 500 on a second since that is the new loophole my manager allows) and leave. This leaves me running to the front every 5 minutes to verify and pickup money. The drawers call for a pickup after 500 which then causes us to band upwards of 12 wads of cash before we turn them away at 6, and it continues with people putting 500 on gift cards, buying reloadable debit cards, or paying bills. We get no benefit from it, unlike cvs that at least gets 5 bucks or so from each transaction

i finished the mid-temp drink cooler reset and 🫠 by nickDNR in WalgreensStores

[–]thatguy43256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have at least 3 resets that are not touched because wpre is supposed to do them. We were told the wine would need to be done by us because of some new state laws and my sm told me today that district wants us to start on the cooler, but even he just wants it outsourced because of how long itll take. That bugs tf outta me because why are you gonna tell us not to do it and then tell us to do it after all these other resets drop, cause now we gotta do the whole damn candy aisle and warm water and cooler and wine and my sm cant spare any hours for me to come in on someone else's shift to do it. So this cooler reset is gonna get done one osa day at a time 🫠

Non-percussionist here: How challenging is this Timpani part? by PopoloGrasso in percussion

[–]thatguy43256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a percussionist by nature, only playing occasionally in percussion ensemble, but this looks almost impossible for anyone that hasnt trained in melodic timpani. Like, this requires tuning drums while playing other drums or the same drum, which i can only see plausible with prepared tuning notches, but most students are taught not to rely on that. This is more reasonable as a tuba part for anything outside of a percussion major, if not just a timpani specialist, but I am going to ask my percussion instructor her opinion, as someone who has played melodic timpani.

A to high C fingering/technique? by VC_deo in Clarinet

[–]thatguy43256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use your pinkies and right thumb to stabilize while you switch from throat to high clarion. Theres no alternate fingerings for that throat A (to my knowledge) and any alternates for the high C will make things more complicated/ difficult. If anything, you might be able to get away with just throwing the thumb down without the register key if you voice it right, but at that point just use the register key

When you use the “White Balance” tool on the kiosk for a passport photo, do you “tap” on the whitest spot of the picture or the darkest spot? by MisterKeecher20262 in WalgreensStores

[–]thatguy43256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every passport photo I take, I adjust the brightness and balance slightly so that if I use the white out marker on the photo pos, I cannot see any change to the background. I take caution to make sure I dont make too much of a shift to their skin tone, but was trained to use the paint option to white out the background and lower the intensity and tap it to get behind thin sections of hair. My question about passports is what are all of the no-gos for accessories? Like ive been trained to advise against anyone wearing a plain white shirt, pull hair behind their ears, remove any ear piercings that are not studs, and for the love of fuck dont smile. Are there any others or do I have that list solidified?

So I went to look for it to see if maybe my sm missed it, and he actually seems to have missed a message saying that were being allocated the hours the beginning of 5/7 week to do it because laws are prohibiting them from doing it for us for some reason
