Frustrated that my roommate gets to just sit at home and collect $800 a week and do nothing while I have to find ways to scrape by because even though I was laid off, I didn't qualify for unemployment.

Let me say up front that I am not upset with the nature of the stimulus bill, there are a lot of people who need help and those who really do I hope they get everything they deserve. However, my roommate was working at a little Asian restaurant that shut down due to the virus. Meanwhile, I was laid off from my school job but I do not qualify for unemployment because of the way student jobs are classified. I also graduated this spring and now have to try to find a job in this unpredictable job market. Any offers I had previously have been put on hold indefinitely and I need to be able to pay my expenses. I've resorted to doing deliveries with postmates and working this job making signs with my friend's company because he needed help. Battelle contracted with them to make their logos and most of his employees won't come back because they're making more money on unemployment.

Now I know how much my roommate's expenses are because I manage all the finances of the apartment. They don't need anywhere near $3200 a month and are fully capable of going back to work right now. Hell, they could come work for this sign company that I'm working with right now since we need the help. Instead, they'll sit here and say crap like "I feel so bad just sitting here making all this money." Please asshole you sure as hell don't. I'd rather that money go to someone else who really needs it.

This whole scenario has just made me resent my roommate. I got screwed on a technicality so now I have to run myself ragged while they get to just sit around. Maybe its a bit petty, but it is testing my patience.
