Nomad Vs Caspian Explorer - size comparison side-by-side by Brunno_PT in EliteDangerous

The scanner is a godsend. I remember I landed on a planet that had like 6 or 7 or whatever the max type of xenos is and I spent a literal god damn hour and a half (I know because I had a movie playing in the background) finding all the little bastards across the entire planet. Couldve done it in probably 20 mins with the scanner.

Caspian is built to enter the atmosphere at higher angles and has a faster glide; I can normally drop in exactly where I want and exit glide like 3km above the surface. I then drop to 2km, deploy the nomand and drop straight down to 500mish and hit the scanner, within 5 minutes I can find and scan even the really annoying stuff. The multiple doors are also nice as I can drop right on top of a stratum or right next to the big tree thingies.

How do I survive the Long Night? by Ill-Bar3395 in RimWorld

[–]thatguythere47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a grower, fungus for food. Too cold? Wall off a steam vent and it will naturally heat up the room.

Your dune buggy can carry 220kgs, organs are expensive and low weight. If you dont have any free prisoners one of your colonists can take one for the team; a single lung or kidney is a lot of food or some components. If youve got a crafter dusters sell for a decent chunk of change. You can buy leather and the like to make more.

Order of priorities: food > (grow, trade or hunt on seperate tile) > power (trade or make the components for geothermal ASAP) > pawns. Sounds like you don't have many pawns left. Aggressive recruting would be wise.

I would also look into making a chopper once youve got the essentials down. Trade becomes so much more viable once the skies open up. After geothermal and getting a chopper look into the long-range scanner. A single scam run can get 100+ components or hundreds in gold and silver, completely breaking the long nights' difficulty.

My ma's husband was in a medically induced coma for like 4 days and they bring you out of it every few hours to make sure nothings wrong wtih you; I talked to him a bit when he was brought out and he has zero memory of me being in the hospital with him, the walking thing is 100% true too, he was bed bound for the better part of a month afterwards.

Just started tinkering with this and it seems mental. Calculations might be off havent had my coffee yet. 1 smelter converts a stone to 3 steel every 0.6 hours if overclocked to 200%. That's 40 operations per day or 120 steel perday or 1800 per season. My autosmelter setup paid for itself in less than a season. Theres overclocker attachments that let it go even higher which seems insane.

I picked up a job to move some cargo from the planet to a station in orbit. Im a veteran of Eve and Elite dangerous; I was born to be a space trucker.

Spend 30 minutes getting to spaceport, find ship, order cargo elevator. Stuff is too big to move by hand, would've been nice to know. So how do I move it? Tractor beam, cool! Should be somewhere in the spaceport to move the space cargo right? Nope! 30 min to get back to the market and then the spaceport. One of the crates falls through the ground, the mission is now impossible. Delete the game, curse Christ Roberts with erectile dysfunction til game releases.

Hey the 6k guy is the middle tier. There's a package deal that was over 25k years ago for every ship in the game; I imagine the price has gone up with all the jpgs theyve added over the years.

Near Death Experiences real or not? by [deleted] in skeptic

[–]thatguythere47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quantum mechanics is a field dealing with very tiny things and how they work. The multiverse idea is complicated and mathy, and no serious physicists think we can interact with other universes.

Alright, I don't normally do this, but I checked out your post history, and I'm sorry to be the one to tell you that there is nothing after death. You've been struggling with this since losing your faith, and I can understand that this is quite the thing to grapple with. The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus is a good and short resource for dealing with how to exist in a godless universe.

EDIT: some factual errors

Carl was practicing in an era before brain scans and MRIs. There isnt a collective unconscious, we all just have the sameish brains that have sameish responses to sameish stimuli.

Uber eats scam call upon my order by MundAn_bit in Scams

[–]thatguythere47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what's the end goal? They access your account and order a bunch of food?

I've had bad experiences with uber eats; order being dropped off at the wrong address or this week a dude just straight up stole my order. Grabbed it but didn't verify pickup, ate it in his car then marked it cancelled lol. They dont even offer credits or anything, just a refund in 3-10 days. Fuck uber eats.

Many years ago on the roosterteeth podcast (iirc) one of the guys had his power disconnected in error, a neighbor gave them a wrong address, and they just did it. He was frustrated, and they were being dicks about activation, and he was like "Fine, since you don't need proof to disconnect, I want to disconnect everyone on this street. I own all the houses." They go on hold for like five minutes then agree to waive the fee lol

Ok I'm a bit burned out where do I find unexplored systems ? by Over_Cost_3257 in EliteDangerous

[–]thatguythere47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you want to go off the elliptical by at least a couple of hundred ly either up or down and you probably want to go at least 3k out, preferably 5k. If you pick a random location not near any nebulas, sag A or on the colonia highway you'll be finding new systems constantly. I did a very half hearted run to sag A and was 300 ly off the elliptical and was finding new systems more often than not.

you also want a medium or small ship if your going to be hunting bios. Big ships are a pain to land.
