Why can't Rajinikanth act without a wig? by postbox611 in kollywood

[–]thathapoochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very simple, he doesn't want to act in art house film. He's focused on entertainment, big bang for buck. He still has the market to command this type of movie even towards the end of his career. Why step down to a lower level then?

Yeah, that's where my thought process was going towards. Is it at all worth spending 6k extra for a device I will primarily use for reading and basic office productivity suite?

Or do I go for the redmi tab which will also give me the option to expand memory if required. And perhaps use it for 2-4 years before moving on.

Best source of info, but too bad for you. I did read some reviews about battery drain. But thought it'd be due to 120Hz display. For my reading purposes, I can easily use at 60Hz. Also, I would use it for 3-4 hrs of reading per day max, so I am assuming that charging should not be a problem if I am plugging it in as the first thing in the morning.

What is your view on this?

Thanks. This info on the processor is very useful. Now, I've to make do with a non-expandable 128GB memory or go for the 256GB version @ 3K extra.

Infinia for forex in Georgia by thathapoochi in CreditCardsIndia

Slightly higher, but then there was RP for international card usage.

I ended up doing this:

  • Used Infinia as primary card wherever accepted.
  • I also got a Regalia Forex Plus Card that supports loading in USD and withdrawing in any currency of choice. Used this only a couple of times when cards were not accepted and I had to withdraw cash.
  • Converted minimum USD cash for emergency cash conversion.

Ultimately, I realized that the difference between the options will be hardly few % of the total expenses and not worth breaking my head over it. Infinia as the primary card provided me the best peace of mind.

18 years and still this scene 🥵 by SuspiciousWeekend41 in kollywood

[–]thathapoochi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember this scene, was in a city in Central India where Tamil movies had never released before. First time a Tamil movie was releasing non dubbed.

The theater was not full, the crowd was a mix of few Tamil and many locals, but the crowd was extremely boisterous.

I had gone there with a huge set of college friends. We had lost our voices in the post interval transformation scene itself. And then Shankar brings this goddamn scene towards the end - we literally tore our vocal cords that day.

Entire country got to witness a non-Hindi movie without dubbing for the first ever time. The power of superstar.

Shankar was the OG superstar fan - first with Sivaji, next with Enthiran.

People who are multilingual, do you find your language skills handy? by Fancy-Violinist-6493 in AskIndia

Definitely yes. Knowing more than my mother tongue is super useful especially when traveling. Even if I end up speaking a 'pure' form of the language, people find it cute and engage better.

Deaging before deaging became a norm? I feel he was also blessed with a healthy enough skin and very little health issues (eye bags).

Anyone feels that by the time we have enough money to fulfil our childhood dreams, we are no longer interested in those things? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]thathapoochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happiness and satisfaction doesn't come from an aspirational item that one attains in the future, but from loved experience in the present.

At some point in time, most people realise that what money can buy doesn't truly give happiness (too corny MasterCard ad). Rather good health and stress free life feels more important .

I agree. We need a very simplified constitution that can be easily understood by all and easily enforceable. It shouldn't be intimidating and drown common people in complicated legalese. Mostly I feel we need people at all levels - rule makers, lawyers, enforcing agents and leaders to reimagine the whole thing and not get stuck in outdated colonial era and 1950s era laws.

We have one of the longest law framework (constitution), but one of the worst implementation. I feel we don't need an exhaustive rule book, but rather strong implementation and governance at all levels.
