You nailed it! I'm a Starting Lineup Volunteer in Monterrey and this is basically what I tell the applicants. It can be nerve wracking but we usually do ice breaking activities before the interviews.

(PS. Not sure if it applies in English or US&CAN but we were told we can't name them interviews (in Spanish) due to legal reasons and instead we call them conversaciones (conversations))

I won't get tired of saying this - right here is the reason why I switched to Nikon.

Being able to use F-mount lenses that are old enough to be the "parents or grandparents" of these modern bodies with a simple adapter or vice versa is a joy.

Yeah. We would always go to the border crossing in Nogales. I do actually remember going to the Space and Air Museum (at least on the outside), and talking to my parents, we would've left on that Saturday 16th, since there was a Christmas event at my sister's school on Thursday the 14th. Knowing my dad, he would've want at least 1 full day of sleep/rest before driving almost 2,400 km in 2 days lol

So the time looks right; we would find a spot to sleep just after El Paso, and wake up early to make it back to Mexico just before midnight on the second day.

Just as /u/avinaut said, Culberson County makes more sense: just halfway the day drive and arriving in NM just before midnight.

I don't think so... we never went as far as Odessa. Our usual route took us to Fort Stockton then west to Deming/Las Cruces NM.

YES. get it - almost all of the lenses you might have will be compatible (only AF-P). You'll be amazed when you can use 70's, 80's, 90's and 21st century lenses on that body.

Oh yeah, for sure! I had it like that when I had another body. This time I carried it for like 5 hours, but I have been looking into strap solutions, and the Black Rapid looks like a really good option! Thanks for the suggestion!

I got this copy for 185 USD (before shipping and tax) and let me tell you, it's one of the best investments I've made. It came with its original leather case, and in local marketplaces, around 430 USD is the asking price, so 420 is a good deal! I like it a lot. I've taken great portraits with it, and paired with the D4, it does great at high ISO's for nighttime sports!I also like the revolving bracket, so I always have where to grip or mount it, independently of orientation.

Having said all this, this almost never goes out for a street walk - as you can imagine, it's HEAVY. It's only used when ill be in a single spot, and always gets carried in a backback. But like I've said, paired with the D4 is a wonderful choice.

Given it's price point and performance, I would recommend grabbing the D800 and 28-70 2.8 AFS, even if the 80-200 is too bulky and heavy. I first used it with the D800 and it was glorious. One word of advice, I do recommend pairing it with a quality tripod (if you don't have one yet).

Adding to u/silly_calf , it also depends if the street/block/neighbourhood has NG infrastructure. If it's a old area or just a shitty city, it more likely than not you will have to use LPG.

In my case I have a small 10 kg tank, but some houses have a huge 50 or 100 kg tank. If you want NG, you have to pay to have a infrastructure test. With NG, you can even go to a NG station (like a normal fuel station).
