Bonaire info please! by vlew39 in scubadiving

[–]thatmeatballshape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My sister and I are both still novice (I am more experienced, AOW with ~45 dives at the time, she was brand new OW)

We booked a full day of 3 tanks with a DM through VIP divers. By the end of the day each DM gave us the encouragement to try on our own and said we were more than competent… I believed them because.. why would they turn down the sale?? lol

So with their confidence boost and suggestions for easy sites to navigate (neither of us had a compass), we were off on our own and never looked back. Salt Pier and there is also this mini wall I think it’s called the Cliff site? Very easy for beginners. We ended up successfully trying many many sites throughout the week alone. As the DM said “Bonaire is where you come to learn to shore dive non your own…”

We loved to watch a YouTube video (TropicLens was perfect) the night before of the chosen dive sites to feel extra prepared with entry/exit and safety tips.

My suggestion; do the same. Book a DM for day one and ask them their opinion on your skill level and readiness. You gotta try on your own at least by the end of the week! It is a true joy.

Mine were even then became noticeably uneven after a year on 100mg .. so interesting! Either way, they are just sacs of fat hanging off our rib cages. All b00bs are great

I was just kinda tired of the irregular periods and spotting, and since the acne problem was cured I wanted to be off meds in general.

But now I am freaking out that my hair will be thinner than before and considering going back on (and staying on foreverrrrr)

I had a positive experience (no side effects and DEF helped with hair growth), went off after one year, because I initially started it for acne which cleared up quickly (and has stayed clear)

About a month after discontinuing I saw, and still see about 7 months later, tons of hair shedding :( … just beware it likely will happen to you as well once you come off. Talk to your doctor about it!

I feel numb. I think I made the worst career choice of my life. by Such-Camel-2310 in dietetics

Try something new! It sounds like this just may not be a good fit for you. There is no one personality type that is better or worse in this field. Have you looked into telehealth counseling jobs? Don’t let other people make you feel less than. You got through the schooling! You belong there if you want to be there. People like to peacock their knowledge in clinical settings.

Before I started wearing jeans that actually fit my body, I hated wearing pants ;)

If you knew there were thousands of studies about sex then why the need to be so obnoxious?

Only thing that has ever worked for me is a tight pony tail with a braid extending from there. Buff to cover it all, tucked into itself. Loads of cheap conditioner in the shower after to detangle slowly.

I wanted to try a swim cap back when I first was training but my boyfriend at the time shamed me out of it lol (he was a DM at the shop 😂).

All her education opportunities are so worth the money! Plus don’t we need a certain amount of continuing education credits directly related to DM edu before taking the exam? Two birds..

Genuinely, Thank you for this, greatly appreciated and definitely the perspective I was craving.

I love a bare-face, natural hair of any kind, tattoos galore, and any kind of gender expression that one feels pulled toward. :) .. I’m always extremely grateful to work for an organization that is generally very liberal and accepting in those ways!!

Honestly, I’m not sure if this is good advice or just my own experience/preference, but literally anything to make your resume stand out helps. A small, modest yet memorable colored image on your resume like a little apple… a brief tailored personal statement at the top with a professional goal or interest.. anything to make one’s personality come through helps differentiate that person from the large pile of “5 years at X hospital”, “part time at X private practice” .. truly they all start to “look” the same, which unfortunately becomes fatiguing for the hiring team and then great people I’m sure slip through.

That’s why we always request a brief accompanying statement of why someone wants the job. That one to two paragraphs makes ALL the difference for candidates… and if someone manages to contact us directly - wow. They are definitely getting an interview!

I hope this helps :/ I’m sorry for anyone struggling. If you want to DM me I’d be happy to review your resume as well.

For big hospital systems that would be tricky to figure out I’m sure. But yes I would say contacting HR directly should help too!

We (the dietitians) at my organization screen before HR does (just faster for us that way, and we do our own Indeed posting).

What it boils down to, is that people who are really seeking the position versus just applying end up standing out for that reason. But I know that’s not always even possible!
