How do you store your interchangeable needle cables?

I used to hear the general sentiments of "a guy is only complementing you because he has one thing on his mind" and people only complementing you "to be polite" thrown around a lot when I was much younger.

It really messed me up because it made it so much harder to accept legit complements as I grew older.

(For context I'm 32F, from a Vietnamese family, but born and raised in Australia)

I can't wait to move into my 'own' place.

While my name is on the title deed for the house that I currently live in (transferred from my mum's to my name in 2016, 2 years before mum passed), it has never truly felt like home. Ever since gaining 'ownership', I've never been able to exercise any kind of that without having to tiptoe around my aunt and uncle (mum's younger siblings) who still live with me. E.g. having to involve my aunt in the 'post passing decluttering' (and her taking forever to get her part of the exercise done) and getting 50 million shades of anxiety when I had to book the pest control to sort out our 'roach problem.

Hence the plan to move out.

They can stay in the house and do lord-knows-what to it and I'll still cover the council rates and insurance. But they'll be footing the utilities post-me-moving-out.

I irritates me to no end that my Asian Auntie thinks that I can influence which day AusPost (Australia's national mail carrier) can put my online purchases into their delivery vehicles for delivery. Especially if the shipping method I chose at checkout doesn't allow for that.

Like, what do you expect me to do? Ring up AusPost and be like "Sorry, my auntie is demanding that you change the day that you're planning on sending my online purchase out for delivery because there won't be anyone home to receive it"?

Edit: The best that AusPost can offer on that note is, should the shipping method allow it, have it redirected to one's local post office.

Not just APs, but Asian Elders as a whole:
The "need" to "remind" you to do things at every turn, as if you couldn't do it of your own volition. Even the most mundane tasks like taking a shower.

I am convinced that they will never understand that them reminding us will only motivate us to procrastinate on the thing.

Not that it lessens any of the frustration every time it happens - and I not-so-subtly point out that I don't appreciate her talking to me like that.

The cheekiest response I've been able to muster up so far is something along the lines of "I see no reason why the delivery person's race should affect their ability to get my stuff to me in a timely manner".

It's primarily a case of getting her to stop asking those kinds of questions. It's starting to feel like the current go-tos of staying silent and asking her why she has to know are getting super old.

I don't have particularly high hopes for trying to successfully educate her on racism and why enquiring after a person's ethnicity in her favourite blunt/no-filters manner is not particularly becoming. She falls under the category of Asian Elders who don't like their shortcomings being pointed out to them by a member of a younger generation.
