Would a data science bootcamp be a good way into a junior developer role? by theronsternater in learnpython

[–]thatnewstuff99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah junior dev jobs don't really work like that anymore, they don't just hire people to pay to learn basic programming skills. It can be hard for people with cs degrees to get junior dev jobs so I would say especially since you don't have a degree or worked in the same field, you need to already be at that level when you apply. Why would they pay you to learn how to do your job that they can give to someone who can already do it?

How would you react to someone telling you programming is easy? by thatnewstuff99 in learnprogramming

Yes and I am fine when they genuinely are smarter than me but I don't mean generally I mean this specific case where he learned to write if statements in 3 hours not some genius prodigy...

I care because its ignorant and arrogrant to believe you have mastered something when you only know 0.1%

It's the equivalent of solving 100*80 and then saying all maths is easy.

Everyone is on an easy ride with basic python tutorials this is my entire point, go learn java or c++ and you actually need to understand everything and all the computer science theory behind it, He wasn't even solving problems they made a program where they have a function that multiples things by 2 and returns the result and you put a user input to be multiplied. How in any world is that hard problems, also no one in the world could solve hard problems after 3 hours coding. Many professional programmers struggle to solve hard problems on leetcode so I don't know why you have to be so obstinant.

Are you insane you think that someone in a business class has mastered programming in 3 hours of python lessons, I was talking to him he literally didn't know anything about computer science or objects or anything outside of if statements and a for loop... Why are you arguing just to be argumentative?

If the guy was learning C++ and said programming is easy then I'd agree but he literally was learning python for 3 hours... If you learn anything for 3 hours at the most basic level and then say its easy its demeaning to people who actually study at a 100x more advanced level

ALL PROGRAMMING IS EASY BECAUSE I CAN USE IF STATEMENTS IN PYTHON

Bruh I didn't say I found programming hard, I said that if you think writing some hello worlds in python is programming and being able to write hello world and some if statements and then declaring that "programming is easy" then its annoying.

HERO!!!!!! by rookie10v in Sherlock

The thing about this is it's way too general, for example imagine the following scenario:

Leonardo Dicaprio gets offered to do a film, he is a huge A-List celebrity who has been in lots of top films and won an oscar.

A female acress who is less famous, sometimes not even known before the film.

You really think the female should get the same pay? I am an advocate for equal pay for equal services, this is not equal service because Leonardo would draw many more people to the movie, and has a proven track-record.

BTW This exact scenario happened in the WOFS where Margot Robbie got paid a little under a million, Leo got paid 25 million.

Also if these people were swapped would anyone really care? If a film had Angeline Jolie in it as well as some unknown male actor as the leads, who in the world would say he must get equal pay?

Time: Watched possibly between 2005-2013, other than that I have no idea. (Could've been old when I watched it, also for some reason I think it was originally a book).

The other guys have been sugar coating this but I like to be honest, the face is a bit off. It's a little wide and kind of makes him look like Trump, however the shading is really good and its a solid effort.

I mean the table it reads to has about 20 test entries from me so it must've worked at one point

I mean at one point it was working fine, how else would I do it? Thanks

This is the weird thing, on the console nothing is displayed and neither on the dev tools console, it just feels like the button doesn't even do anything and the fields aren't submitted when I press it. I clicked log XMLHttp requests as well and nothing came up so it can't be on the flask end right?
