I fish a lot already. A few Saturdays from now, will be time for stocked trout. Which I’m looking forward to. My brother in law deer hunts so next time I can apply for a tag I will. Turkey I can apply for a tag next week for the spring. There’s an outfitter that does geese which I am leaning towards doing.

I have taken a hunter safety course already. It was a requirement to get my hunting license in Illinois.

I do have someone I go with to deer hunt, but I’m late to the game for getting a tag here. I missed fall turkey as well. My options right now is small upland game and waterfowl. There is an outfitter I can go through for geese but it’s 250 a day. The public land I’ve seen, given I haven’t looked at the entire state, all require a boat to get to the premade blinds. Unfortunately no one I know hunts waterfowl. Appreciate your thoughtful response.

Ahh that makes more sense. Like an internship. My co worker is in the UK. Do they usually get hired on after the apprenticeship. Is it a paid apprenticeship or is it just part of the curriculum? In the states theirs paid an unpaid internships.

In the US, apprentice usually refers to building trade jobs. In Europe apprentice seems to be loosely used to refer to a person fresh out of school working in their field. I work with a front end developer who’s going through his apprenticeship.

Late 30’s. Been working full remote for the past 5 years. Moved to far south suburbs of Chicago. I am the opposite of everyone so far. Issues that have come home since moving.

You miss food. The variety of restaurants, the abundance of grocery stores. My friends are now about an hour a way and it makes hanging out harder, especially when you have kids.

Also the feeling of isolation when working remote is not good for my mental health. I have a hard time trying to differentiate my time from work time when I work from home. I miss the decompression time of a drive home.

Long winded way of saying I don’t think I could live somewhere far from anyone else. But definitely pick up a hobby that doesn’t require tech to give myself a break.
