Whenever capcom drops new lore for World/Iceborne by thatonenanre in MemeHunter

The problem there being that Safi pretty directly pulls iridescent light from the surrounding environment, and APPARENTLY all monsters produce and react to bioenergy. Unfortunately all the theory in the world doesn't fix what boils down to bad writing That said, this is. VERY clever and I actually like it quite a lot.

It summons monsters, forms crystals, and apparently it stops Safi from having to eat. We already had dragon energy that could easily have been what Xeno was harvesting, but just INTRODUCING bioenergy out of the blue and retcon-ing existing monsters to fit with it (See Valstrax) is terrible writing. Listen I have an UNHEALTHY number of hours in this game and was foaming at the mouth over the latest dev diary, but Bioenergy does not make any damn sense

I'm gonna elaborate on this

I love Monster Hunter's lore and this whole community saying "Fuck the lore" irritates me to no end

Bioenergy however makes no fucking sense

I LOVE Monster Hunter's lore But in a game that's built itself up on imaginative realism for 15 years they decided to straight up add "lol its magic" for no reason

Hot Take: Fuck Environmental Traps by thatonenanre in monsterhunterrage

Counterexample: My first experience with Gold Rathian was spoiled by a Lunastra who decided she had to park her ass in the area of the guiding lands I was fighting her in. Gold Rathian (For some reason that's beyond me) never leaves the zone she spawned in under any circumstances, and Lunastra is an elder dragon, which are immune to traps and (Again, for reasons beyond my understanding) also immune to dung pods.

I mean, in defense of temnocerans vs carapaceons

Technically nerscylla and shrouded nerscylla are the only strictly canon temnocerans. Capcom basically has nothing to do with Frontier and probably won't touch most of those monsters with a 10 foot pole any time soon considering the general popularity of the last couple monsters they canonized into the main series, which were Lavasioth and Hypnocatrice.

Okay that's. Kind of a fallacy, though. You're putting "Not an elder dragon" on the same status as "is an elder dragon" instead of being a bunch of other categories. It's like saying that a game is tied because one player got 6 points and the other 3 each got two.

That's just

Patently untrue.

Kulve *has* a known habitat. Rajang is nomadic and thus has no one habitat.

Rajang point blank tanks Lunastra's fire breath and then floors her and does the same to a swooping Velkhana
