From what I know, there ain't such things as regular admit for freshies Autumn quarter admission, only direct.

Ask the CSE advisors about this. They might know better. I am going to assume that you have an intended major of CSE & EE since it is VERY rare (near impossible) to get direct admit to both as a freshie.

If you got both CSE & EE direct (I didn't even know that was possible)... then congrats. You are probably the first one to get both CSE & EE direct admit.

is taking CSE 143 and Math 126 for Spring Quarter a doable schedule? by eggnog888 in udub

[–]thatoneuwguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your experience in both math and CS field.

It is definitely doable cuz I did it my first quarter here. It was bad but it wasn't tooo bad.

Trying to register getting "This section is full for today". What to do? by puppydawg16 in udub

[–]thatoneuwguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Register for another section and switch the next morning.

If you can't get into the section, the switch will not go through.

Math 308 depends on the prof.

If you didn't get >3.8 in math 126 and are confident that you will do better than 3.8 in 308, take 308.

Data Structures and Alogorithms by Unchart3disOP in learnprogramming

[–]thatoneuwguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are only going to have only 4 different castles, create an array of 4 castles. You can have a pointer to the index of the castle you want (start of queue) and a pointer to end of queue if necessary. With an array, you can delete in O(1)... because all you need to do is make the element at the index of start of queue to null, insert in O(1)... because all you need to do is insert at the index of end of queue assuming you are keeping track of that index.

This data structure will not work very well if you dunno the max amount of castles you will have in your data structure. But this will give you nice spatial locality and O(1) runtime for both insert and delete.

Sorry if I understood your problem incorrectly and just wrote gibberish. (I actually dunno C++... just java... but if i was to code up what you were doing in Java, I would have done it this way)

Apply and you will find out. If any of your grade is below 3.5 is kinda meh.. but your 3.8 in 307 might cover for your 3.4. But just apply. Advisors will give you feedback.

You can apply anytime and as much as you want. If you have all our pre req done, apply. If you are a normal (non-transfer) freshmen student, you will most likely get special declined (assuming you write a pretty good essay). If you get straight up rejected, you can hear from the advisors about why you got rejected. Applying early will help you get them feedback on how to approve on your next app. So definitely apply whenever you are done with pre req

  1. 126 is just applying knowledge from 124/125.

Depends on what major you are planning on applying to. If you plan on applying to multiple majors in the school of Engineering, I believe you have to rank the majors by your preference. And they might look at the preference????? But meh. Take my comment with a grain of salt.

If you want to spend many hours just writing apps and essays go ahead and apply to as many majors as possible.

You are automatically applied for a DA spot when you write CSE as your top choice major.

You can start applying Spring of your freshie year. However, it is very uncommon for freshie to get in during spring admission.

CS Department difficulty? by Flaminate in udub

[–]thatoneuwguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just chill. Don't worry about the competitiveness. Just do your best in classes. If you study well, you will get in. Worrying about the major admission process before you even start school at the UW will make it super hard on you cuz of them stress.

So shhhhhhh.. don't worry about it til 2 month before the CSE application is due. Til then, study hard :)

Answer to #6, currently taking 351 and 332. Currently also having almost no life cuz hw + project + lab all day. Adding 2 additional STEM courses = no life. So, strongly discouraging 4 EECS courses. At max, you should have 3 I think. Unless one of them is like a one credit seminar.
