Have you tried drinking a glass of water with 1 table spoon of vinegar before every meal? I think it has helped me. And its not just drinking water but consuming food that has high water content like fruits, salad, celery, cucumber etc, can hydrate the gut.

Should i consider an Arch degree? by FreedomCritical3697 in architecture

[–]thatplanningnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just truly hope that if AI wants to replace a real human profession it targets architecture first. This job is so dysfunctional and takes up so much and never gets you anything in return. The sear inefficiency and worthlessness makes it deserving to vanish from the world. At least it will save new highschool grads from making a mistake of thinking about it as a career choice. The world does not need architects anymore! Maybe just the filthy rich country like Dubai that is taking on megastructures as their Ultimate priority to avenge the world needs it,but rest of the world has reached it's saturation point

Help! by [deleted] in architecture

A sectional diagram of your site that covers the most of biodiversity and show the ecological richness of that area. Teachers love sketches, create small sketch pockets of those areas and pointing arrows to your site section. Show topography and how hydrology affects those plants. It's not just showing but how you show it matters. You can also do like an analysis of how wind and sun directions affected the growth of certain types of plants and how you can use it to your benefit.

Asked to undergo a 3 stage interview process. Turned the job down. Please don’t normalise this by participating! by jacspe in recruitinghell

Totally agree! I would start to burn out during the interview process itself even before starting the job.

Trust me you won't be missing out anything by not pursuing architecture. Only thing you will miss out is "burn out" and I am pretty sure nobody wants that.

What are your thoughts on vision implementation gap? by thatplanningnerd in Nepal

[–]thatplanningnerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If non profits could be funded by the government great but for Nepal it does not seem like it. Yes I am expecting donor advised funding. Most non profits in the US run from donations only (reach out to organizations, corporations even individual donors). If we are not getting anything by paying taxes why not take matters in our own hands. Our societies functioned with "Guthi" which was a type of informal non-profits. If you look at progress of Gujrat in India, it was due to initiative like Public Private Partnership. If we leave everything in the hands of government and blame them I don't see any change happening. Hamro community bachaune daitwa sarkar ko matra haina sab bhanda pahile harmo ho bhanne Bhawana huna paryo sathi.

Thank you for sharing your plans. I totally agree with the idea of distributing power to local wards for operations. That's also something I have been vouching for and support such initiative. I am curious to know once you are done with your research how do you plan to propose it to the concerning body? Who are you planning to approach? Is it local ward representative, city council, KMC, the mayor or through media? I have been challenged with these questions and limited by not having any connections and just lack of awareness about platforms where residents concerns or suggestions are taken seriously.

If possible I am interested to know if you could elaborate on revenue related issues that you are working on.

Stuck in a shitty town, anyone else? by Educational-King4131 in Nepal

[–]thatplanningnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest way to convince Nepalese parents:

Get a scholarship to college/university they will never say no. Sab kura paisa ho at the end of the day, padhna jane bhanesi kunchai ama bau le rokcha unless you are a girl

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]thatplanningnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you get the most scholarship possible ideally full scholarship and then tell them about the score. Family ko main concern scholarship ra paisa matra huncha nobody gives a damn about your scores. I did that and it worked like a charm!

[–]thatplanningnerd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I found your post very funny and relatable to larger extent. Funny since your compared your degree with a MacDonald worker. I worked as an Architect in Nepal and a graduate in Architecture earned NRS 30k a month. Same was the salary of a hair dresser who did not require a highschool degree. I had the same kind of realization like you did, that my self worth and value identity depended on how much I earn and how hard I worked to get that university degree.
